Position SummaryJoin the Surrey Anvil Way team, where you'll will play a crucial role in troubleshooting, fabricating, maintaining, installing, and repairing various equipment and systems in the plant. We are looking for an individual who is safety-conscious, adaptable, and has a strong mechanical aptitude. The preferred candidate has the knowledge and expertise to work both independently and within a team.This is a full-time hourly role, with 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.Key Accountabilities<ul><li>Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot pumps, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, conveyors, and motors with minimal supervision.</li><li>Perform metal fabrication and pipe fitting, including welding and oxy-fuel cutting.</li><li>Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), basic repairs, and diagnostics on wheeled and tracked site equipment.</li><li>Maintain and inspect process equipment, including welding and fabrication tools, ensuring safe and efficient operation.</li><li>Perform routine equipment checks: oiling, greasing, vibration analysis, and inspections.</li><li>Support general site maintenance: painting, pressure washing, insulating, cleaning, tarping, and winterizing.</li><li>Operate and rig forklifts, boom lifts, and scissors lifts safely and competently.</li><li>Complete Job Hazard Risk Assessments (JHAs) and ensure all tasks follow safety procedures.</li><li>Promote a strong safety culture across all teams and activities.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance, including action plans and follow-up.</li><li>Perform routine maintenance activities independently.</li><li>Keep maintenance inventory up to date.</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work environment.</li><li>Perform other site-related tasks and duties as required.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Journeyman Millwright or 3rd year that can complete their 4th year within 12 months of hire.</li><li>Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a fairly clean Commercial Drivers Abstract.</li><li>Metal fabrication experience is an asset.</li><li>Must be able to perform labor-intensive duties, capable of heavy lifting (up to 40 kg).</li><li>Able to supply your own set of hand tools to perform basic repairs would be an asset.</li><li>Travel Requirements: from time to time</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities.</li><li>Must be safety conscious and dependable.</li><li>Mechanical aptitude required. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.</li></ul>#GFLTalent  We thank you for your interest.
