Responsibilities / TasksThis role is open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.Supervision &amp; Execution<ul><li>Execute and/or supervise all activities and tests related to the commissioning of GEA.</li></ul>Analysis &amp; Recommendations<ul><li>Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Standards<ul><li>Ensure compliance with existing standards, regulations, and norms while defining GEA-specific standards.</li></ul>System Troubleshooting<ul><li>Diagnose and resolve system issues during the commissioning phase to ensure a smooth transition to operational status.</li></ul>Review of Protocols &amp; Procedures<ul><li>Review test and commissioning protocols/procedures developed by GEA and those submitted by manufacturers, product suppliers, and subcontractors.</li></ul>Commissioning Plan Adherence<ul><li>Ensure all commissioning-related tests, reports, and checklists align with the commissioning plan.</li></ul>Refrigeration Plant Commissioning<ul><li>Commission the refrigeration plant within the agreed timeframe in coordination with the Project Manager.</li><li>Coordinate with mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.</li></ul>Client Communication<ul><li>Maintain clear and effective communication with the client as required.</li></ul>Component Identification<ul><li>Identify any new or unfamiliar components that may impact the commissioning process.</li></ul>Documentation &amp; Review<ul><li>Review commissioning log sheets and paperwork, ensuring all default settings are properly incorporated.</li><li>Assess time scales for project completion and adjust as needed.</li></ul>Resource &amp; Equipment Verification<ul><li>Confirm availability of all necessary equipment required for testing.</li><li>Ensure that all safety equipment is either available or scheduled to be available for commissioning.</li><li>Verify that power, water, and air supplies are available or scheduled to be available for commissioning.</li></ul>Warranty &amp; Issue Resolution<ul><li>Collect, report, and take action on warranty-related issues identified during commissioning.</li><li>Conduct plant walkthroughs to observe general operating conditions.</li><li>Address any arising issues related to plant operation or warranty.</li></ul>SCADA Monitoring &amp; System Checks<ul><li>Ensure SCADA trending and historical alarms are properly set up and recording for future analysis.</li></ul>Your Profile / Qualifications<ul><li>Qualifications: Engineering or technical qualification, ideally in industrial refrigeration, with certifications in Ammonia and CO₂.</li><li>Experience: Several years of practical experience and in-depth knowledge of commissioning industrial refrigeration systems.</li><li>Technical Skills:</li><li>Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical diagrams and schematics.</li><li>Familiarity with refrigeration commissioning standards.</li><li>Ability to understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&amp;ID).</li><li>Strong grasp of control descriptions.</li><li>Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Flexibility &amp; Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to construction sites across the UK and Ireland.</li><li>Commitment: Must be prepared to work away from home as required.</li><li>Career Development: Time-served engineers seeking to develop their skills in commissioning will also be considered.</li></ul>Did we spark your interest?
