At Heart Aerospace, we are developing the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane capable of carrying 30 passengers, boasting an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 800 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.Your missionWe are seeking a highly motivated Flight Systems Engineer to join our  Mechanisms team. You will play a crucial role in the system-level design, bring up, debugging, and certification of distributed systems across the ES-30 aircraft. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and certify the first commercial electric-hybrid aircraft.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Lead the design of essential systems by collaborating cross-functionally with flight science, software, electrical, mechanical, and safety engineers.</li><li>Lead in-vehicle debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system-level issues, across electrical, mechanical and software systems. Work across multiple teams to find and efficient solution.</li><li>Support bring-up and maintenance of prototype aircraft, integration test benches, Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and virtual simulation platforms.</li><li>Create and execute system-level integration plans for a complete system or subsystem.</li><li>Contribute to the software verification and validation strategy in accordance with DO-178C objectives.</li></ul>You'll Bring These Qualifications:<ul><li>3+ years of experience in system integration, ideally in the aerospace or automotive domain.</li><li>Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, …), and system-level integration practices.</li><li>Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, or Python for automation and testing.</li><li>Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and integration frameworks.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.</li></ul>These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:<ul><li>Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G, DO-331, or other safety-critical standards.</li><li>Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry</li></ul>Education<ul><li>Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.</li></ul><div>Base Pay Range: </div><div>$113,000—$238,000 USD</div>
