Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.Your missionWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Turbomachinery Engineer to join our Propulsion team. You will lead the design and integration of the turbomachinery components, including the fuel system and pitch control system. You will interface across mechanical, thermal, electrical, and control systems to deliver a fully integrated and certifiable propulsion unit.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>This role is a Responsible Engineer (RE) focuses on the integration of turbomachinery into our hybrid aircraft.</li><li>Full ownership over design, fabrication, and certification of the hybrid powertrain.</li><li>Lead the design of turbomachinery, including combustion systems, fluid analysis, exhaust, high-speed rotating machinery, and similar.</li><li>Lead and execute system-level tests, such as engine and propeller test stands.</li><li>Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivery of integrated, certifiable subsystems.</li><li>Model the gas turbine in to our high fidelity digital twin for optimization of our hybrid mission profile.</li></ul>Skills &amp; RequirementsYou'll Bring These Qualifications:<ul><li>5+ years of professional experience working with propulsion components such as gas turbines, thermal management systems, propellers, and ancillary systems.</li><li>Hands-on experience with propulsion or powertrain test stands, including instrumentation, controls, and mechanical assembly.</li><li>Experience with CAD (e.g., Siemens NX), Python, system integration, and PLM tools.</li><li>Proficient with static and dynamic structural analysis through simulations on either of Ansys, Nastran, or Abaqus.</li></ul>These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:<ul><li>Understanding of certification requirements (EASA CS-23/25 or FAA FAR Part 23/25).</li><li>Knowledge of drivetrain dynamics, rotor balancing, or propeller aerodynamics.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership qualities through cross-functional teamwork on challenging problems.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering (or similar).</li></ul><div>Base Pay Range: </div><div>$140,000—$176,000 USD</div>
