Thea Energy is on a mission to create a limitless source of zero emission energy for a sustainable future.  </div><div><br></div><div><b style="font-size:18px;">Position Overview:</b><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span></div><div>We are looking for talented technical interns to join our stellar team in the spring!</div><br><br><h3>Program Details:</h3><ul><li>Spring 12-16 week internship program for 40 hours per week or flexible school year internship for 30+ hours per week</li><li>For school year internships, expected time dedication is flexible and tailored to your academic schedule</li></ul><h3>Mechanical Engineering Intern (onsite):</h3><ul><li>Mechanical Engineering Interns will develop and exercise their design, analysis, and hands-on skills to support prototyping and stellarator design activities</li><li>Activities may include CAD and/or FEA model development and will culminate in the delivery of functional custom components, tooling, fluid systems, and test equipment</li><li>This role will require at least 3 days onsite per week</li></ul><h3>Project Assignments Examples:</h3><ul><li>High-temperature superconducting magnet engineering, manufacturing, and testing</li><li>Cryogenic and vacuum systems</li><li>Instrumentation and diagnostic systems</li><li>Electrical and control systems engineering</li><li>Mechanical engineering</li><li>Various modeling, simulation, and data analysis roles including but not limited to COMSOL, ANSYS, Python, C++, MATLAB, Simulink, Microsoft Visio, LabVIEW</li></ul><h3>Ideal Skills:</h3><ul><li>Enrolled in a STEM undergraduate or graduate program (mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, etc.)</li><li>Interest in clean and sustainable energy to combat climate change</li><li>Hands-on or computational experience through academic research, club projects, hackathons, or industry internships</li><li>Highly self-motivated, independent, and driven to solve problems</li><li>Authorized to work in the US</li><li>Willingness to learn new things!</li><li>Compensation: $18-25/hr undergraduate and $26-30/hr post-grad</li></ul><br><div>It’s not necessary to meet all of the skillsets outlined above. Stellarators are inherently steady-state, stable magnetic configurations that eliminate potential disruptions, making it an optimal pilot plant architecture. Thea Energy is building off foundational research and technology development that it spun out of Princeton University and Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, where the stellarator was first imagined in 1951. Thea Energy's proprietary breakthroughs have now enabled systems to be simpler and more practical than previously possible resulting in a system design that can scale to long-term commercial system operation and maintenance.​</p>
