AECOM Buildings + Places sector is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our Ottawa, ON office with opportunities for hybrid work.AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.Major ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:<ul><li>Conduct drafting / 3D BIM for mechanical systems</li><li>Prepares finished design drawings from sketches, notes, and details</li><li>Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, coordination with other disciplines and prepping preliminary equipment lists with the assistance of an engineer and/or equipment supplier.</li><li>Supporting the preparation of the specifications and maintaining project documentation including quality review documentation.</li><li>Supporting packages preparation and submission</li><li>Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements.</li><li>General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.</li><li>Works in engineering project collaboration software platforms (i.e., ProjectWise, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud)</li><li>Self-checks drawings for quality assurance</li><li>Support with field inspection and construction administration</li><li>Works in team-based environment that involves coordination with colleagues in different disciplines based in different offices</li><li>Performs the responsibilities under limited supervision</li><li>Work both in office and field settings</li></ul>
