We are looking for experienced Network Operations Engineer that can design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud networking solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Will be responsible for the network and operational stability of client test and production environments. Must have a strong background in network engineering and firewall support, system administration and technical operations. This role is critical to ensuring seamless connectivity across cloud and hybrid environments, supporting the client business applications and services.Here’s a glimpse into your day-to-day:<ul> <li>Design and deploy AWS networking solutions including VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, Transit Gateways, load balancers and VPN connections. </li> <li>Implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity (Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN). </li> <li>Configure and maintain network security using AWS security groups, NACLs, and firewalls. </li> <li>Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues across cloud and on-prem environments. </li> <li>Monitor WAF logs and analytics to identify and respond to suspicious activity, false positives, and performance issues. </li> <li>Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure and efficient cloud network architecture. </li> <li>Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to integrate WAF into CI/CD pipelines and ensure secure deployments. </li> <li>Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates for consistent WAF configuration across environments. </li> <li>Automate network provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. </li> <li>Stay up to date with Cloudflare product updates, threat intelligence, and best practices in web application security. </li> <li>Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures and enforce system standards. </li> <li>Perform regular software upgrades of network and switching equipment (including hotfixes and security updates). </li> <li>Secure network and firewall systems by establishing and enforcing security policies and defining user access. </li> <li>Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility. </li> <li>Stay current with AWS networking services and best practices. </li> <li>Serve as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation for escalation of issues and emergencies. </li> <li>Participate in the planning/design of procedures and technical infrastructure for purposes of business continuity in case of disaster or prolonged production outages. </li> </ul>RequirementsWhat You BringWe’re all about skills, attitude, and passion. You’re a great fit if you have:Knowledge<ul><li>Strong knowledge in core networking technologies and protocols, including;</li></ul><ul><ul><li>HTTP/S protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and subnetting o Routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) </li><li>Switching and VLANs </li><li>Network security (firewalls, ACLs, VPNs) </li><li>Load balancing and high availability </li><li>Web Application firewalls</li></ul><li>Strong knowledge in cloud specific technologies, including;</li><ul><li>Amazon VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) </li><li>Subnets, route tables, internet gateways, NAT gateways </li><li>VPC peering and Transit Gateway </li><li>Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) </li><li>AWS Direct Connect </li><li>AWS Site-to-Site VPN </li><li>AWS Global Accelerator </li><li>PrivateLink and VPC Endpoints </li><li>Security Groups and Network ACLs </li><li>Route 53 (DNS and traffic routing)</li></ul><li>Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices. </li><li>Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, etc.). </li></ul>Skills <ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. </li><li>Experience with LAN/WAN and related technologies including firewalls, routers, and switches. </li><li>Experience with SAN/NAS administration. </li><li>Network debugging skills on Cisco (or comparable) core switches and firewall. </li><li>Experience in administration of firewalls, VPN, and associated security technologies. </li><li>Experience with routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing. </li><li>Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and IaC automation tools (Terraform, Ansible). </li><li>Experienced in delivering high uptime in a 24x7 production environment under customer facing SLAs </li><li>CCNA/CCNP, AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or other comparable certifications are strongly preferred. </li><li>Experience with Cloudflare Web Application Firewalls is preferred. </li><li>Experience with Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls a plus. </li></ul>Abilities <ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Disciplined, detail-oriented, and well organized with a strong background in operational methodology. </li><li>Ability to independently research, specify, cost, and plan appropriate solutions to meet project requirements on time and in budget with an eye for maintainability and availability. </li><li>Ability to document/update standard operating procedures. </li><li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced Operations environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines. </li><li>Ability to interface and work with varied positions and levels of technical knowledge both within the department and with other departments in the company. </li><li>Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly determine root causes of problems and drive towards solutions. </li><li>Must foster a collaborative and collegial atmosphere within a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. </li></ul>Other Essential Requirements <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. </li><li>4+ years of experience in cloud networking, with a focus on AWS</li></ul>Don’t meet every requirement?
