This position plays a key role in the integrity and accuracy of our financial reporting, supporting both U.S. and international operations. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings a proactive approach to problem-solving. This job is based out of one of Joby’s California locations in San Carlos, Santa Cruz, or Marina.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Execute and support month-end close activities including credit cards, AR, leases, prepaids, &amp; general accruals, by preparing journal entries in D365 (Joby’s ERP), account reconciliations, and variance analyses.</li> <li>Monitor and perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations as part of consolidation process.</li> <li>Assist with uploading foreign subsidiary monthly activity and performing flux analyses to ensure reasonableness and accuracy.</li> <li>Manage company leases in LeaseQuery software including adding new leases and amendments and record related journal entries under ASC 842.</li> <li>Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to SOX and audit requests, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.</li> <li>Complete ad hoc accounting tasks, such as accounts payable support, credit card transaction resolution within Navan, and expense classification at month-end.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams (e.g., Procurement, Legal, FP&amp;A) to ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation of business activities.</li> <li>Participate in ongoing process improvements and system enhancements to support scalability and efficiency.</li> <li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. GAAP and relevant international accounting standards.</li> <li>Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on accounting &amp; procure-to-pay processes and controls.</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li> <li>3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting or corporate accounting preferred.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.</li> <li>Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., D365, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.</li> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>CPA or similar certification (CMA, CFA, etc.) or progress toward certification designation.</li> <li>Systems experience with ERPs and proficiency with following software: D365, Workiva, LeaseQuery, &amp; Navan.</li> <li>Experience with multi-entity, international, or manufacturing operations.</li> <li>Familiarity with intercompany transactions and consolidation processes.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $82,300 - $109,800/yr.
