<h2>About the Role</h2>We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Manager of Finance &amp; FP&amp;A to play a critical role in shaping the financial future of Muon Space. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will lead company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and performance management in support of rapid growth across commercial and government programs.The Senior Manager will partner closely with leaders in Engineering, Mission Engineering, Production, Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Development to ensure disciplined capital allocation, proactive risk management, and data-driven decision-making. This is a highly visible role that blends financial acumen with strategic business partnership to help drive scale in a complex, long-cycle industry.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Strategic Finance Leadership<ul><li>Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long-Range Plan (LRP), and rolling forecasts across all business units.</li><li>Provide actionable insights on program and company-level performance, unit economics, and capital trade-offs.</li><li>Support strategic decision-making on new programs, pricing strategies, launch partnerships, infrastructure, and CapEx investments through financial modeling and ROI analysis.</li></ul></li><li>FP&amp;A Execution<ul><li>Lead variance analysis as part of the Month-End Close in partnership with Accounting.</li><li>Own Program Gross Margin reports, Budget vs. Actuals, and program-level cost tracking.</li><li>Build and refine program cost models for commercial and government contracts in alignment with evolving business and technical requirements.</li><li>Enhance forecasting accuracy through data-driven methodologies, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses.</li></ul></li><li>Business Partnering<ul><li>Own Department Budget vs. Actuals analysis and reports</li><li>Partner with Mission Engineering and Program Management to drive program performance, risk mitigation, and funding strategies.</li><li>Deliver executive-ready dashboards and presentations that communicate financial performance, scenarios, and forward-looking insights.</li><li>Support customer, investor, and government reporting by preparing clear, compliant, and timely analyses.</li></ul></li><li>Team Leadership &amp; Other Projects</li><li><ul><li>Build scalable FP&amp;A processes, tools, and systems to support rapid company growth.</li><li>Drive adoption of ERP and BI tools, improving data accessibility, reporting accuracy, and automation.</li><li>Foster a culture of precision, transparency, and forward-thinking financial management across the Finance function.</li></ul></li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Required:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.</li><li>8–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&amp;A, corporate finance, or investment banking, including 3+ years in a managerial role.</li><li>Proven track record in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industries.</li><li>Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and executive presentation skills.</li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li style="font-size:10pt;">MBA, CFA, or CPA.</li><li style="font-size:10pt;">Experience with both commercial and government space programs.</li><li style="font-size:10pt;">Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Anaplan).</li><li style="font-size:10pt;">Strong grasp of long-cycle programs, unit economics, government contract structures and EVM a plus</li></ul>SalaryThe salary range for this role is $123,000 - $187,000 plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.
