The role spans across low-level firmware and Linux-based software components, ensuring that all software is consistently built, packaged, and deployed through a unified CI/CD flow. The engineer will also drive automation for validation and regression testing, enabling reliable and scalable release processes.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>As a CI/CD Engineer, you will be expected to:<ul style=""><li>Build Automation &amp; CI/CD<ul style=""><li>Automate end-to-end builds for C/C++ codebases, including secure and non-secure components.</li><li>Develop and maintain pipelines that cover both device-level firmware and higher-level system software.</li><li>Ensure builds are reproducible, traceable, and properly versioned with logging and artifacts.</li></ul></li><li>Packaging &amp; Deployment<ul style=""><li>Create and manage combined software release packages that integrate multiple system components.</li><li>Automate delivery of software updates to test environments and validate successful deployment.</li></ul></li><li>Validation &amp; Regression Testing<ul style=""><li>Collect and analyze update status data to confirm deployment outcomes.</li><li>Trigger automated regression suites post-deployment and monitor results.</li><li>Publish test outcomes in a structured and accessible format for engineering teams.</li></ul></li><li>DevOps &amp; Infrastructure<ul style=""><li>Maintain and scale CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring stability and efficiency of pipelines.</li><li>Collaborate with development teams across firmware and system software to streamline integration and releases.</li><li>Continuously improve automation coverage, release reliability, and developer productivity.</li></ul></li></ul><h2>About You </h2>Required Qualifications<ul style=""><li>5 years of experience in CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar).</li><li>Proficiency with C/C++ build systems (CMake, cross-compilation, secure/non-secure builds).</li><li>Familiarity with Yocto Project builds and embedded Linux packaging.</li><li>Knowledge of OTA frameworks (Mender preferred) and embedded update flows.</li><li>Experience with test automation and regression validation pipelines.</li><li>Strong Git workflow knowledge (branching, tagging, release management).</li><li>Scripting expertise in Python and/or Bash.</li></ul>Bonus QualificationsWe would love to hire someone who has:<ul style=""><li>Experience working in a startup environment</li><li>Experience with or preference for a rapid or continuous release cadence</li><li>Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.</li><li>Experience w/ GraphQL or GRPC, RDBMS/SQL, S3 and AWS.</li><li>Experience working in the Renewable Energy industry</li></ul><h2>Life at SPAN</h2>Our Bengaluru team plays a pivotal role in SPAN’s continued growth and expansion.
