You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize battery interconnects, current collectors, and voltage sensing harnesses for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.<hr><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Create and manage 3D models and 2D drawings of battery interconnects, current collectors, and sense harnesses.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Select termination methods for BMS/PCBA connections (e.g., welded, crimped, soldered, ZIF).</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Define and translate system-level requirements into detailed flex circuit product specifications.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Build and test prototypes; support design validation and launch activities.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Conduct and lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and DFM analyses to ensure design robustness.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Develop and execute DVP&amp;R plans to validate product performance and durability.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Explore new materials, designs, and processes to enhance the thermal, electrical, and mechanical performance of flexible circuits.</li></ul><hr><h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3><ul><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Understanding of Li-Ion battery performance and requirements across pouch, prismatic, and cylindrical cells.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Experience with cell connection manufacturing processes (laser welding, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, ribbon/wire bonding).</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties of conductor and insulation materials.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Ability to size busbars and conductors using simulations and 1D joule heating calculations.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Experience designing and validating electrical joints and connection interfaces.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Familiarity with battery pack architecture (series/parallel design, energy/power balancing, safety considerations).</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Preferred: experience with FEA/CFD simulation tools for mechanical and thermal analysis.</li></ul><hr><h3>Location</h3>San Carlos, CA<hr><h3>Compensation</h3>$120,000 – $150,000 (final compensation determined by experience and level).
