Our EPC model supports large-scale manufacturing campus delivery in NV and SC and multi-state energy projects.We are hiring a Director of Construction to lead execution across both our flagship battery materials campus in Nevada, South Carolina and our expanding portfolio of Redwood Energy storage installations nationwide. This individual will&nbsp;operate from the owner’s side, overseeing construction strategy, directly managing contractors, and building out a full internal GC capability. The role requires someone who can lead large teams (50-60 person in-house team) , drive field operations, and step in to personally project manage critical scopes when needed. This role will include participation and some supervision of on-site construction, active problem solving and strategic management amongst the different internal stakeholders (manufacturing, process design, finance, procurement, executive). The ideal candidate has experience across complex industrial and utility-scale energy projects, including strong field leadership, licensing and permitting knowledge, and contractor accountability.&nbsp;&nbsp;Responsibilities will include:&nbsp;Project Execution&nbsp;<ul><li>Oversee end-to-end construction across Redwood’s Nevada&nbsp;and SC&nbsp;campuses&nbsp;and Redwood Energy battery storage deployments.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Lead preconstruction, bidding, leveling, and award process.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Manage all field operations, site&nbsp;logistics, and schedule adherence across multiple concurrent sites.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure that the project action items&nbsp;are being&nbsp;systematically tracked and completed to support the project requirements.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Visit project sites&nbsp;regularly.&nbsp;</li></ul>Team Building&nbsp;<ul><li>Build Redwood’s internal GC capability — hiring and mentoring superintendents, PMs, schedulers, safety,&nbsp;quality&nbsp;and project engineers.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Monitor project&nbsp;team&nbsp;cohesiveness and develop action plans to correct issues associated with project management resources.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Develop scalable org structure, operating procedures, and repeatable delivery frameworks across project types.&nbsp;</li></ul>Construction Administration&nbsp;<ul><li>Serve as Redwood’s lead representative for field construction, acting as the Owner/GC on all major scopes.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Enforce contractor compliance with Redwood safety protocols, QA/QC standards, and documentation.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Support&nbsp;inspection&nbsp;readiness, AHJ approvals, and regulatory compliance across state and local&nbsp;jurisdictions.&nbsp;</li></ul>Schedule and&nbsp;Financial&nbsp;Management&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Responsible for oversight of project team in the development and maintenance of the project master schedule to ensure conformance to project execution strategy and contractual obligations.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Own&nbsp;schedule&nbsp;performance across all construction programs, driving accountability through weekly coordination and look-ahead planning.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Monitor the purchasing of all required materials, subcontracts, equipment, and services for project(s) by project staff and other team members, ensuring&nbsp;optimal&nbsp;savings within safety, quality, scheduling, training, and profitability requirements.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Monitor construction budgets, change orders, cost trends, and vendor pay apps to protect against overruns.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Lead field procurement alignment to ensure material readiness and long-lead coordination.&nbsp;</li></ul>Risk and Licensing&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Provide oversight,&nbsp;identifying&nbsp;potential&nbsp;issues&nbsp;&amp; assist&nbsp;project teams in the development of corrective measures for risk mitigation. In addition, responsible&nbsp;for&nbsp;monitoring&nbsp;the corrective measure until risk is mitigated.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain Redwood’s standing as a General Contractor in Nevada and support licensing for expansion states.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Serve as or support Redwood’s Qualifying Individual for construction licensing across&nbsp;jurisdictions.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Identify&nbsp;and mitigate field risks related to design gaps, constructability issues, safety, or sequencing conflicts.&nbsp;</li></ul>Collaboration&nbsp;<ul><li>Act as the bridge between Engineering, Procurement, Product, and Operations during design reviews and site execution.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Drive field implementation of Redwood Energy’s storage platform in alignment with product and interconnection teams.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Communicate project status, risks, and critical path decisions clearly to executive stakeholders.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>In the absence or termination of subordinates or other project staff, ensure&nbsp;project&nbsp;continuity.&nbsp;</li></ul>Desired Qualifications:&nbsp;<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline&nbsp;</li><li>15+ years of construction leadership experience, with a mix of industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Direct experience as an Owner’s Rep or in a self-perform GC model, including project management and contractor oversight.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have experience in all contracting methods such as lump sum, GMP, cost plus, unit price construction management, and fee-based construction. Must understand legal aspects and implications of contractual language.&nbsp;</li><li>Proven experience in bidding, leveling, and awarding contractor scopes for major capital programs.&nbsp;</li><li>Expertise across civil, structural, architectural, MEPF, and energy systems, including site utilities and balance of plant.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of the impact caused by multiple changes in either the design, engineering, or construction phases and how they impact the overall project, from the cost, schedule, construction management, and construction operations perspectives. Must be knowledgeable of when and how to address these issues with customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated leadership of multi-state execution teams, including remote field staff and traveling superintendents.&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with licensing requirements, lien laws, inspection readiness, and change management workflows.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong command of construction financials, including pay apps, forecasting, cost control, and contingency planning.&nbsp;</li><li>Field-level expertise using Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera/MS Project, and collaborative tools.&nbsp;</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Licensed General Contractor or ability to qualify as a Qualifying Individual in NV, SC&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>OSHA 30 certified.&nbsp;</li><li>PMP or CM-Lean or CCM certification a plus.&nbsp;</li><li>Prior experience in battery, EV, semiconductor, data center, or utility-scale energy sectors is strongly preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience deploying modular, prefabricated, or productized energy systems a major plus.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience managing a minimum of one projects in which all process or production equipment installation within the scope of project services for specific industry types of projects, including, but not limited to, mission critical, large distribution and manufacturing, equipment installation, and support utility installation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>Physical Requirements:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs. .&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to walk up and down stairs carrying weight.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>Working Conditions:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Environment, such as office or outdoors and inclement weather conditions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, or extreme heat/cold.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Maybe required to work some weekends or be on-call as a regular part of the job.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>&nbsp;<div>The position is full-time.
