The target range for this position is $118,000 to $130,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.Scope of job: Responsible for leading or supporting analyses relating to competitive outlook, site acquisition and interconnection strategy, new market development, customer demand, pipeline reporting, and financial analysis. Supports new business development efforts and analysis, site planning/acquisition, strategic planning, financial management, and administering systems and processes essential to the success, direction and operation of the Region. <h2>Responsibilities</h2>Business and Project Development:<ul> <li>Project Origination, Greenfielding, and Development Support <ul> <li>Performing analyses to evaluate new market opportunities and other relevant metrics to support entry strategies.</li> <li>Supporting project development initiatives, including creating and compiling metrics regarding site identification analysis.</li> <li>Coordinating between project developers and GIS team to present metrics and relevant greenfield analysis into internal GIS prospecting tools.</li> <li>Coordinating between project developers and interconnection team regarding project deadlines and upcoming financial obligations.</li> </ul></li> <li>Market Research and Financial Analysis: <ul> <li>Maintaining, updating, and improving the Region’s buildout assumptions and methodology.</li> <li>Performing market research and financial analysis including the use of Tableau and Power BI and project level financial modeling tools.</li> <li>Structuring and managing the Region’s market intelligence file repository.</li> </ul></li> <li>Strategic Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting: <ul> <li>Supports strategic planning and development of financial and business plans.</li> <li>Supports the preparation and submittal of budgets, plans, and forecasts.</li> <li>Tracks budgets against actual spending across the fiscal year providing insights and data to the development team; Analyzes budget data to improve future budgeting and spend forecasts.</li> <li>Creates and maintains dashboards of ongoing budget and spend data.</li> </ul></li></ul>Project Management:<ul> <li>Internal Development-Related Duties: <ul> <li>Overall manage the development of a portfolio of projects: budgeting and finances, project timing and planning, risks assessment and management, legal balance, and exposure of the projects.</li> <li>Coordinate directly with corporate Resource Assessment Group to review, research, investigate, and analyze potential wind and solar acquisition opportunities. Effectively elevate issues to Directors / Regional VP as necessary.</li> <li>Lead communications with EDF Renewables Program Managers to develop and finalize construction scope of work and drawings. Coordinate with Program Managers on development deliverables and construction timelines.</li> <li>Obtain internal approvals to develop renewable energy projects, including drafting or facilitating investment memos, projections, and capitalization processes. Effectively elevate issues to Directors / Regional VP as necessary.</li> <li>Forecasting and scoping future needs of pre-capitalized and capitalized renewable energy projects.</li> </ul></li> <li>External Development-Related Duties: <ul> <li>Lead and facilitate communications and negotiations with external stakeholders, including but not limited to contractors, landowners, permit agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders. Effectively elevate issues to Directors / Regional VP as necessary.</li> <li>Oversight of local, state and/or federal environmental permitting processes, as a precondition of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) or Environmental Impact Statements/Reports. Utilization of support groups to identify construction-related issues, prior to obtaining a CUP. Responsible for securing internal approval for pre-construction analyses required for local permits, including but not limited to Encroachment, Grading, Foundation, and Building Permits that are needed prior to turning over the project to the construction team.</li> <li>Facilitate contracting for pre-construction activities such as preliminary geotechnical engineering, preliminary engineering, identifying, and presenting a plan to meet FAA requirements and other requirements, where applicable.</li> <li>Initiate, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with all the project’s partners, including but not limited to power purchaser, utilities, landowners, permitting authorities etc. Keep Director and Regional Vice President closely informed and effectively elevate issues as necessary.</li> <li>Manage (contract, engage, and discontinue, as necessary) consultants – including but not limited to environmental, engineering, aviation, biological consultants on the projects, with guidance from Directors / RVP as necessary.</li> </ul></li> <li>Land Acquisition Duties: <ul> <li>Work with regional team to design and implement land acquisition campaigns, including identification of landowners within prospective sites, initiating contact with landowners, meeting with individual landowners to articulate the benefits of company’s value proposition and negotiating contracts with landowners and/or landowner attorneys for participation in proposed renewable energy projects.</li> <li>Manage land acquisition special meetings that require advanced negotiations skills for collection and transmission lines, access roads and right of way easements.</li> <li>Manage and implement acquisition plans with contract land agents where necessary.</li> <li>Negotiations relating to purchase of O&amp;M facilities, substation and lay down yards.</li> <li>Coordinate real estate due diligence, review materials and provide risk assessment for acquisition opportunities.</li> <li>Conduct Stakeholder meetings and presentations and maintain relationship with Stakeholders throughout the land acquisition and development process.</li> <li>Submit weekly status report(s) to maintain up-to-date summary of project activities.</li> <li>Assist with Quality Assurance of contract land agents work.</li> <li>Assist Landowner regional staff with maintaining existing landowner communications via project update phone calls and letters, quarterly newsletters, and project update meetings.</li> </ul></li></ul>Operations Systems and Processes:<ul> <li>Identifying tasks and development areas where systems or systems improvement will streamline necessary business activities, performing process mapping and optimization.</li></ul>Other duties as assigned.Supervision of Others: 0-1<h2>Qualifications</h2>Education/Experience – <ul> <li>Bachelor’s in Business, Economics, or related field required.
