The Test Technician is responsible for planning, execution, and documentation of formal validation tests associated with new design and product development as well as re-qualification of existing products. The successful candidate will evaluate thoroughly the test plans provided by design engineering teams, prioritize the associated tasks effectively, execute consistently flawless testing, and keep highly detailed documentation and logs. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for writing and maintaining test procedures, setting up, monitoring and breaking down a variety of environmental and mechanical tests, as well as interpreting product output data in a variety of analog/digital formats, evaluating against performance criteria, and communicating that information to engineering teams.-Specific Responsibilities:<ul><li>Independently manage a schedule and prioritize associated work tasks for multiple projects with complex test sequences.</li><li>Write and update test procedures and instructions.</li><li>Perform validation tests from start to finish, including mounting of parts, making electrical connections, configuring data acquisition system, analysis of data, and documentation of results.</li><li>Effectively troubleshoot and debug electrical and equipment issues encountered during setup and testing.</li><li>Drive systemic improvement of testing and the testing process by logging lessons learned and providing feedback to engineering and the validation testing group.</li><li>Setup and run a variety of mechanical and environmental tests, including:</li><li>                               - Thermal Shock                               - Humidity Endurance                               - Vibration                               - Drop                               - High/Low Temperature Operating Endurance</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement for test execution in the areas of safety, test integrity, and documentation</li><li>Work under limited supervision with oversight and strategy set by manager</li></ul>Required Skills: <ul><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Effective time management skills</li><li>Demonstrated strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to read and follow test specifications, schematics, standards, and procedures</li><li>Experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical test systems</li><li>Working knowledge of common electronic test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc</li><li>Experience with basic soldering techniques and practices</li><li>An understanding of fundamental physical concepts, including torque, pressure, temperature, force, and electricity.</li><li>Ability to learn how to operate pressure controllers, thermal ovens, and other test-specific equipment</li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, managers, and peers to achieve business and organizational goals</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of general safety practices and maintaining a safe work space</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li><li>Associates Degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred or applicable technical expertise</li></ul>Additional Desirable Skills/Traits:<ul><li>Familiarity with basic machining operations (drilling, milling)</li><li>Experience with measurement and inspection equipment</li><li>Familiarity with principles of data acquisition/processing software such as LabView, Visual Basic, MATLAB or similar</li><li>Ability to analyze data to make data-driven observations and recommendations</li></ul>#LI-MY1 #LI-Onsite Hourly Base Pay Range: $23.40 - $32.18At Sensata, our employees are the key to our success and growth.  We recognize that each individual brings their own unique experience, therefore the base salary range information shown above is a general guideline only.  Sensata considers several factors when extending an offer, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations.
