This position can be based in London, Chicago or New York City.Primary Responsibilities: Data Strategy and Governance<ul><li>Define and implement a data strategy aligned with our business goals.</li><li>Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.</li><li>Oversee data policies, standards, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).</li></ul>Data Architecture and Infrastructure<ul><li>Collaborate with technology and product teams to build scalable data platforms.</li><li>Ensure the entire organization has the right tools and infrastructure for data collection, transformation, storage, and processing.</li><li>Lead enterprise-wide programs in data deduplication, consolidation, and advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, NLP).</li></ul>Data Quality and Stewardship<ul><li>Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.</li><li>Promote data stewardship across departments to ensure accountability.</li></ul>Analytics and Insights<ul><li>Enable advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives with demonstrable ROI.</li><li>Work with business units to translate data into actionable insights.</li><li>Drive data democratization, making data accessible and usable across teams.</li></ul>Risk Management and Compliance<ul><li>Mitigate risks related to data privacy, security, and misuse.</li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.</li></ul>Culture and Change Management<ul><li>Foster a data-driven culture across the organization.</li><li>Lead change management efforts to improve data literacy and adoption.</li></ul>Collaboration and Leadership<ul><li>Manage and develop a global team of approximately 500 data professionals in Romania and India.</li><li>Partner with other Sustainalytics and Morningstar leaders to align data initiatives.</li><li>Represent data interests in strategic planning and innovation.</li></ul>Who You Are<ul><li>Minimum of 15 years in strategy data management and operations leadership, with a proven track record in large-scale data strategy and execution.</li><li>Deep expertise in sustainability, mutual fund, equity, and fixed-income data and investment methodologies.</li><li>Strong communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate, and align stakeholders at all levels.</li><li>Extensive experience with data workflows including extraction, transformation, normalization, warehousing, and reporting.</li><li>Familiarity with Big Data technologies and client-facing data product development is a strong advantage.</li></ul>Compensation Range in New York City: $217,516-$391,532 base salary range, plus 55% bonus target.</div>Compensation and BenefitsAt Morningstar we believe people are at their best when they are at their healthiest.
