About the role: BlueWave is seeking an Senior Electrical Engineer. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be the primary subject matter resource working on solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects from concept stages (site identification), through project development (entitlement and engineering) to starting construction. This person will also be managing the Request For Information (RFI) and Submittals process to confirm that the projects achieve completion milestones on schedule and in a safe manner. What you'll do:<ul style=""><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Assessing the viability and constructability of target land for interconnection and provide feedback to different internal and external stakeholders </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Create layouts for projects (different stages) and evaluate project work needs based on choice of equipment and installation methods </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Design interconnection plans and SLDs for utility interconnection applications and negotiations </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Engineer and design the electrical facilities for solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects: DC array/block layouts, AC layouts, electrical plans, detailed wiring drawings, conductor and conduit schedules, grounding and power studies. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Specify equipment (transformers, low and medium voltage switchgear, etc.) for procurement </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Generate design documents for permits and construction </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Review and update QA/QC procedures for project commissioning and start-up </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Review and approve energy generation estimates and underlying assumptions </li></ul> Qualifications:<ul style=""><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience (advanced degree preferred). </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license required. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Experience with electrical generation projects at a traditional engineering or architectural firm or EPC contractor. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Electrical engineering and design experience on grid-scale, commercial, or utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar) software and electrical discipline libraries. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Advanced proficiency in ETAP or SKM (or similar) power study software. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Working knowledge of conceptual design software such as SIFT/Helioscope and energy modeling software such as PVSYST. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Working knowledge of GIS software and data layers. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Working knowledge of solar PV module stringing and OEM-approved racking layouts. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Hands-on design experience with software necessary for the job functions. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Strong communication, drafting, and presentation skills. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">Curiosity in experimenting with new design approaches and a “can-do” attitude toward problem-solving. </li><li style="margin:0px;font-size:10pt;line-height:1.38;">25-30% travel expected for site visits as needed. </li></ul> The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000 per year + bonus.
