The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in  metallic materials, coatings, and surface finishes for aircraft components for Wisk’s next generation aircraft. This role is critical for ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our aircraft components and systems. The metallurgist will be responsible for metallic materials selection, failure analysis, process development, and quality control, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and research and development teams.This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days. What you will do: <ul><li>Serve as the M&amp;P lead for metallic material selection and processes for aluminum, steel, titanium, and other alloys </li><li>Review and advise on metallic part and assembly drawings</li><li>Provide design guidelines for corrosion prevention</li><li>Author &amp; support material &amp; process specifications, test plans, test reports, and design guides</li><li>Support Wisk Production through non-conformance dispositions, failure analysis, root cause investigations, and correct active recommendations</li><li>Support evaluation and auditing of metallic part suppliers</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
