Safely inspect, maintain and repair all Company owned or leased vehicles and equipment including rolling stock, to ensure its ability to operate efficiently and safely. Provide daily functional direction to mechanics as needed  Key Responsibilities:<div>• Performs repairs in accordance with Company Safety and OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements• Perform welding responsibilities• Plan and achieve maintenance goals and objectives• Develop and maintain files such as: equipment lists, suppliers list, operating,maintenance manuals, purchase orders, drawings, checklists, spare parts lists,corrective maintenance details, maintenance history• Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advisesleadership if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the standardrepair times• Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts. This includesevaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents afterhours and on weekends while on call and may require on-site supervision of theresolution to maintain operational efficiency.• Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance andproduct quality• Work closely with production and other departments in developing the workschedules including the coordination of all maintenance activities for efficient flow of operations.• Safely operates tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing ofequipment Diagnose defects and repair a variety of equipment• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures perform other job-related duties as assigned• Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment as assigned.• Follow all safety proceduresKnowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.• Complete all company provided/sponsored technical training and continuing educationprograms.• Must pass DOT physical including drug screen.• Three (3) or more years of demonstrable mechanical experience• Waste transfer plant experience would be an asset• First Aid/CPR TRAINING would be an asset• Knowledge able about WHMIS• Demonstrates effective communication skills• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends tosupport operations and the needs of the facility• Works under minimal supervision.
