AECOM is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to join our Water Business Line in Oakland, California. This strategic role offers an opportunity to lead and deliver complex coastal engineering projects in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You’ll work with senior engineers, scientists, and project managers to shape resilient coastal infrastructure, contribute to climate adaptation strategies, and drive innovation in technical delivery.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Serve as a technical leader in the planning, design, and rehabilitation of coastal structures including seawalls, revetments, groins, and nature-based (living shoreline) solutions.</li><li>Conduct resiliency and vulnerability assessments for infrastructure exposed to flooding, sea level rise, and coastal storm impacts.</li><li>Perform advanced wave modeling and statistical analyses (including spectral and wind-wave calculations) to inform project design and risk mitigation.</li><li>Oversee development of technical tools, workflows, and standardized processes to enhance project efficiency and quality control.</li><li>Lead preparation of technical deliverables, including engineering reports, cost estimates, regulatory permits, and specifications for infrastructure projects.</li><li>Coordinate and manage coastal data collection and survey campaigns, and integrate findings into project designs.</li><li>Mentor, supervise, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level coastal engineers, and contribute to talent development within the Water group.</li><li>Support client and stakeholder engagement and contribute to proposal development and project pursuits.</li><li>Support identification and pursuit of key project opportunities for coastal engineering across the Pacific Coast and throughout the broader Pacific Region.</li></ul>
