Operating since 1976, our businesses span six states and serve rapidly growing metropolitan areas, including Chicago, Memphis, Clearwater, Orlando, and San Antonio. </p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Accountant / Controller</strong> to lead accounting operations across multiple recycling locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on financial work, managing staff, and collaborating closely with ownership. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> </p><ul><li>Oversee and manage accounting checklists for daily/weekly/monthly accounting work. </li><li>Conduct month-end close and review financial statements </li><li>Supervise and develop office accounting staff  </li><li>Conduct performance reviews </li><li>Train new team members </li><li>Support departmental hiring </li><li>Measuring workload/workflow and have cross training for proper staffing size </li><li>Ensure compliance with internal procedures and duties </li><li>Analyze trends and variances; develop cost-reduction strategies </li><li>Manage budgets and forecasting for assigned locations </li><li>Support special projects as assigned by management </li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required) </li><li>Waste &amp; Recycling Industry experience </li><li>7+ years of progressive accounting experience </li><li>Prior experience supervising direct reports </li><li>Strong understanding of inventory accounting </li><li>Demonstrated experience in budgeting, variance analysis, and cost control </li><li>Proficient in MS Office, especially advanced Excel </li><li>Experience in manufacturing, recycling, or services industries a plus </li><li>Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines </li></ul><p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong> </p><ul><li>Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time </li><li>Medical, dental, vision  </li><li>Voluntary life and short-term disability insurance </li><li>401(k) with company match </li><li>Company-sponsored life and AD&amp;D insurance </li></ul><div>Salary Description</div><div>$150,000-$200,000</div>
