As a Health &amp; Safety Engineer in our power transmission business, you will own and advance safety across overhead lines, substations, and related construction and maintenance activities. You’ll design and implement practical HSE programs, lead risk assessments and incident investigations, and work side-by-side with operations, engineering, and contractors to reduce risk and protect people and assets. This role provides visibility into high-impact projects and the opportunity to influence standards across the network. Key responsibilities <ul><li>Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems, policies, and procedures tailored to transmission works (live-line work, switchyards, tower erection, stringing).</li><li>Lead risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit-to-work processes.</li><li>Conduct safety inspections, audits, and field observations; track corrective actions and trends.</li><li>Investigate incidents and near-misses; produce root-cause analysis and effective corrective actions.</li><li>Manage contractor HSE performance and pre-qualification.</li><li>Deliver training and toolbox talks on electrical hazards, working at height, rescue, LOTO, PPE, and emergency response.</li><li>Ensure regulatory compliance and keep guidance up to date with industry standards and best practices.</li><li>Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, reporting systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li></ul> A BACKGROUND THAT CONVINCES US We’re looking for a professional who combines technical knowledge with strong field experience in transmission work. Essential <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.</li><li>7+ years’ HSE experience in power transmission, utilities, or heavy civil works.</li><li>Strong understanding of electrical hazards, high-voltage safety, working-at-height, fall protection, and rescue procedures.</li><li>Experience with risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation, and audit programs.</li><li>Recognized safety certification (NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA or equivalent).</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to influence in the field and at the leadership level.</li></ul>Desirable <ul><li>Experience with live-line maintenance, substation commissioning, or transmission construction.</li><li>Familiarity with IMS, ISO 45001, and local regulatory frameworks.</li><li>Certification in first aid, rope rescue, or relevant technical specialties.</li></ul> AN ENVIRONMENT THAT MOTIVATES YOU You’ll join a collaborative HSE team embedded in a fast-moving engineering organization.
