We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Android Automotive Framework, to join our Infotainment Software team. In this role, you will be responsible for:<ul><li>Technical Leadership: Setting technical direction, overseeing architecture decisions, and guiding the development of Android Automotive OS (AAOS) components. </li></ul><ul><li>Team Management: Hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineers; fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. </li></ul><ul><li>Project Oversight: Managing timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware, UX, QA, and product teams. </li></ul><ul><li>Platform Development: Enhancing Android Framework components, integrating HAL services, and ensuring performance, stability, and compliance with automotive standards. </li></ul><ul><li>Strategic Contribution: Influencing product strategy and aligning engineering efforts with business goals. </li></ul> Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead development of AAOS-based infotainment systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Optimize system performance (latency, resource usage, stability). </li></ul><ul><li>Resolve issues related to connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), multimedia, CarPlay, Android Auto. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, hardware, QA). </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct code reviews and document design decisions. </li></ul><ul><li>Stay current with Android and automotive technology trends. </li></ul> Required Skills and Qualifications <ul><li>Technical Skills </li></ul><ul><li>Strong experience with Android Framework, AOSP, and AAOS. </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, C/C++, and Linux. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with HAL development, NDK, and embedded systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). </li></ul><ul><li>Debugging tools: adb, logcat, Wireshark, gdb. </li></ul> Leadership &amp; Management <ul><li>3+ years in a technical leadership role. </li></ul><ul><li>2+ years in people management. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering teams. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills. </li></ul> Education &amp; Experience <ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. </li></ul><ul><li>8+ years of software development experience, preferably in automotive or embedded systems. </li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Experience with on-device ML, infotainment product development, or Android certification. </li></ul><ul><li>Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile development. </li></ul><ul><li>Background in cross-functional project leadership. </li></ul><div><div>Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
