AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Engineer within the Buildings and Places business line in Philadelphia, PA. This position will offer the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. The Buildings and Places group at AECOM works on transportation projects (airports, rail transit, highways, bridges, maintenance facilities, etc.) and other facility related projects for federal agencies, state and local government and private industry. Typical tasks may include:<ul><li>Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and studies associated with electrical facility designs. </li><li>Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.</li><li>Produces plans, specifications, reports, and other project related deliverables for projects.</li><li>Prepare one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications.</li><li>Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers</li><li>Exercise judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.</li><li>Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings independently for review by senior staff.</li><li>Perform engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids</li><li>Maintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.</li><li>Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.</li><li>Utilizes software to perform lighting calculations.</li><li>Analyzes problems and writes reports.</li><li>Assists in project checking for quality control on other projects.</li><li>Perform site investigations and walk-downs.</li><li>Mentors/trains junior staff members.</li></ul>
