As a Tech Lead Software Development, AI - you will be the technical anchor of your team. You’ll drive technical decisions, guide developers, ensure code and architectural quality, and partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and the Data Science Tech Lead to deliver meaningful outcomes. Your role is a hybrid of hands-on development and team enablement.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership<ul><li>Lead system design and architecture discussions within your team.</li><li>Make key technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability.</li><li>Ensure delivery aligns with broader platform, data, and AI architecture.</li><li>Work on AI projects with 3rd party LLM providers, such as OpenAI, Google, and others.</li><li>Build observability and monitoring tooling for the AI features the team ships.</li></ul>Delivery &amp; Execution<ul><li>Contribute hands-on to codebases.</li><li>Write technical tickets that extend and complement business tickets, bridging the gap between functional intent and technical execution in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.</li><li>Drive reliable, high-quality delivery through planning, code reviews, and mentoring.</li><li>Collaborate with the all Engineering tech leads to ensure technical consistency and cross-team alignment.</li></ul>Mentorship &amp; Team Development<ul><li>Coach and mentor developers of all levels; help grow the next generation of senior talent.</li><li>Create a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and ownership.</li></ul>Cross-functional Collaboration<ul><li>Partner with Product Managers, Data Science Tech Lead, and Designers to shape high-impact solutions.</li><li>Represent engineering trade-offs and advocate for technical feasibility and scope clarity.</li></ul>Quality &amp; Process<ul><li>Champion best practices in software development (testing, observability, documentation).</li><li>Work with the Platform Engineering team to improve DevEx and Software Development Life Cycle workflows.</li><li>Contribute to technical KPIs (reliability, delivery performance, etc.).</li></ul>Job Requirements<ul><li>8+ years of software development experience with 2+ years in a senior or lead role.</li><li>Minor in Computer Science (or equivalent professional experience)</li><li>Strong proficiency in modern web development in (Python or similar).</li><li>Strong proficiency in modern front-end languages and frameworks such as Angular and TypeScript (or similar)</li><li>Experience in integrating with and optimizing AI/LLM services.</li><li>Experience with architectural patterns (event-driven, service-oriented, hybrid monolith/microservice).</li><li>Proven leadership in guiding teams through technical complexity.</li><li>Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, GCP), CI/CD, and DevOps practices.</li><li>Understanding of basic GenAI workflow concepts (vector databases, embeddings, retrieval, prompting, and orchestration)</li><li>Basic knowledge of the frameworks Langgraph and Langchain is a plus</li><li>Comfortable working in cross-functional, agile environments.</li><li>Bonus: experience in data-intensive applications, ESG.</li><li>Fluent in English (French, a strong plus)</li></ul>What we offer<ul><li>Join an early-stage, well-financed company</li><li>Advance Novisto’s purpose of contributing to the sustainability of the economy, environment, and society by empowering companies to make better decisions and disclosures through our ESG data management software</li><li>Contribute your knowledge and insights to increase awareness and knowledge of sustainability</li><li>Generous health benefits (100% Insurance coverage &amp; access to Dialogue's telemedicine app)</li><li>Flexible schedules &amp; opportunity to work remotely</li><li>4 weeks of vacation</li><li>Stock option plan</li><li>Summer hours</li><li>If you prefer to work at the office, we have a beautiful office in Old Montreal, close to downtown and steps away from a metro (subway) station</li></ul>
