As a member of the PD team you will be a driving force of innovation and helping build the future of electric vehicle charging.The Staff Thermal Design Engineer will play an integral role in architecting, modeling, validating and optimizing system thermal design.  In this role you will employ a balance of simulation along with hands-on testing to deliver optimal solutions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be able to lead the cross-functional thermal design of products from concept to mass production.What You Will Bring to ChargePoint<ul><li>Guiding system architecture through accurate system thermal models</li><li>Leading system designs as they relate to thermal solutions</li><li>Working cross-functionally to iterate and optimize thermal performance to meet system requirements</li><li>Balancing system needs to achieve maximum thermal performance within constraints (volumetric, acoustic, power dissipation, safety)</li><li>Designing and leading thermal testing (TTV)</li><li>Validating and optimizing system design through data collection and analysis</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field</li><li>10 or more years of experience in thermal design</li><li>Experience in heat pipes, vapor chambers, liquid cooling</li><li>Highly proficient in CFD analysis with 5 years or more of experience</li><li>Perform thermal verification testing and optimization </li><li>Design of Experiments at each phase of the project</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey key results</li></ul>Desired SkillsThe ideal candidate would also have design experience in the following areas: <ul><li>MS or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Thermal Design, Heat Transfer, or Fluid Dynamics</li><li>Experience designing and optimizing cold plates</li><li>CAD proficiency (we use Siemens NX)</li><li>Manufacturing and assembly experience</li></ul>LocationCampbell, CAChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
