Location: Remote / HybridEngagement: Part-Time, with flexibility to increase commitment over timeCompany Stage: Stealth<hr><h3>About the Company</h3>We are a stealth venture founded by four women entrepreneurs with deep experience in bio-materials, chemistry, climate tech startup building and commercialization.Our team is exploring a defined opportunity space at the intersection of food science and artificial intelligence, focused on transforming how food ingredients and products are formulated, optimized, and scaled, with a focus on sustainability and performance.We are seeking an EIR to join our team - someone who thrives in ambiguity, values scientific curiosity, and is motivated by the opportunity to build impactful solutions in food innovation.<hr><h3>About the Role</h3>As an Entrepreneur in Residence (Food Science &amp; AI), you will lead exploration and validation within a defined opportunity in AI-driven food formulation. You’ll apply your expertise in food science, formulation, and data-driven modeling to shape hypotheses, evaluate feasibility, hands-on prototyping, identify early proof points that advance the technical and commercial direction of the project.This role offers the flexibility to start part-time, with potential to expand as the project evolves.<hr><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Lead structured opportunity validation and early-stage R&amp;D efforts.</li><li>Apply formulation science and AI/ML methods to build and improve performance, stability, and sensory outcomes.</li><li>Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and founders to refine hypotheses and shape the technical roadmap.</li><li>Analyze experimental and computational data to guide iteration and decision-making.</li><li>Translate findings into actionable recommendations for technical and market validation.</li></ul><hr><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related field.</li><li>Experience: 3–8 years of hands-on experience in food formulation, ingredient R&amp;D, or computational food science.</li><li>Prior experience building or applying AI/ML tools in food, materials, or life sciences.</li><li>Proven ability to connect technical insights with market context.</li><li>Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. </li></ul><hr><h3>Compensation</h3>Salary commensurate with experience and to be discussed based on engagement level (part-time or full-time).
