Fourier engineers work in a hands-on, collaborative environment to solve problems and push progress forward. Qualified candidates should have prior hands-on experience working in a mechanical lab or industrial company.<h2>Roles and responsibilities</h2><ul style=""><li>Design and build prototypes and product encasing</li><li>Create detailed design of mechanical structures and assemblies and work with appropriate manufacturers</li><li>Facilitate selection of the optimal hardware components (sensors, pipes, valves, etc.) from external suppliers</li><li>Create and maintain Balance of Plant cost/Bill of Materials</li><li>Assess failure modes that involve thermal/structural/electrical/chemical/fluid interactions</li><li>Problem solve and risk mitigation</li><li>Oversee the assembly and setup of benchtop test rigs, prototypes, and production units</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Required:<ul style=""><li>B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent</li><li>4+ years of relevant experience</li><li>Hands-on experience assembling mechanical systems</li><li>Experience designing and building structures, from 3D CAD and/or 2D drawings through fabrication and assembly</li><li>Experience designing and developing cost-effective solutions</li></ul>Preferred:<ul style=""><li>Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field</li><li>Experience in the following areas:<ul style=""><li>Hands-on work with gas and/or water piping</li><li>FMEA (Failure Mode &amp; Effects Analysis)</li><li>Designing and analyzing energy systems</li><li>Working with hydrogen or similar gases</li><li>Mechatronics</li><li>Designing enclosures for electromechanical systems</li></ul></li></ul><h2>What we offer</h2><ul style=""><li>Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage</li><li>Competitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience</li><li>401k</li><li>Diverse and inclusive work environment</li><li>Paid sick days and vacation</li></ul>
