We are seeking candidates located within the European time zone, within ±5 hours, to support our satellite operations rota.Your Role Key ResponsibilitiesAs our Satellite Operator, you will be joining our Mission Operations Engineering team for 12 months fixed term, covering the following responsibilities;<ul><li>Operating the constellr satellites according to established processes and procedures.</li><li>Participate in the On-Call support program.</li><li>Creation of the necessary technical documentation, operational reports, and reviews.</li><li>Supporting the improvement of our operational processes for constellation operations, both in nominal and contingency situations.</li><li>Participate in the ongoing operational FDIR study to be used for contingency operations development.</li><li>Improvement of operational procedures according to the onboard software of the payload and the platform</li><li>Participate in verification and validation of mission operations (tools, procedures, and processes)</li></ul>About youRequired: <ul><li>A degree in aerospace engineering or equivalent.</li><li>Proven experience in satellite operations.</li><li>A strong grasp of systems engineering principles applied to space projects, and project development lifecycle.</li><li>Knowledge of the constraints and challenges of earth observation mission operations.</li><li>Development skills in Java and Python.</li><li>Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL).</li><li>Comfortable knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Familiar with ECSS standards.</li><li>Ability to rapidly expand application-specific knowledge sets and skills where necessary and to quickly familiarise yourself with new areas of responsibility.</li><li>A holistic view and good knowledge of satellite systems and components.</li><li>An engaging and social team-player spirit, with a strong motivation to help build and shape constellr’s organisation.</li><li>The ability to work autonomously, and analytically, whilst remaining results-oriented.</li><li>Comfortable working in a distributed team, and well-versed in using collaborative tools.</li><li>Proficient English language skills (verbal &amp; writing).</li><li>Highly disciplined &amp; reliable – committed to planning &amp; delivering results on time, reporting any deviations accordingly.</li><li>Goal-oriented, creative, flexible, and comfortable handling many diverse and sometimes open-ended assignments.</li><li>A team player with experience and familiarity in mission operations environment and procedures, ideally with previous work on Earth observation missions.</li></ul>Why constellr?<ul><li>Be part of an ambitious mission to launch the world’s first commercial thermal infrared constellation. </li></ul><ul><li>Flexible work setup with remote and hybrid options. </li></ul><ul><li>Join a team committed to diversity, inclusion, and scientific excellence.  </li></ul>At constellr, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming workplace.
