Moon Five is looking for a contract marketing lead with stomp and swagger to develop our brand voice, messaging, and lay the foundation for marketing greatness. We’ll put our brand, events, partnerships, and GTM experiments in your hot hands; you’ll collaborate with our designer to make work that sucks people in, only to spit them out as customers, believers, converts. This is no job for the meek - it’s a strategic, collaborative, execution-focused role for someone who’s excited to help us in laying the groundwork with our infrastructure that is looking to make positive change in the world for decades to come. Show us what you got when you apply!Responsibilities<ul><li>Partner with the CEO, Sales, and Deployment teams to refine our brand narrative, positioning, and messaging for customers, utilities, partners, and investors.</li><li>Own core marketing collateral for different mediums—including our website, slide decks, one-pagers, emails, and event materials.</li><li>Provide creative direction to our visual designer and ensure brand consistency across all materials.</li><li>Lead and execute experiments to test messaging and early GTM strategies (e.g., A/B tests, sales feedback loops, campaign iterations).</li><li>Write clear, compelling content that translates technical concepts into accessible, value-driven stories.</li><li>Identify, plan, and prepare for key industry events, conferences, and speaking opportunities to support partnerships and demand generation.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand strategy—ideally in B2B, climate tech, hardware, or early-stage startups.</li><li>Strong brand and marketing strategy skills, including messaging development for GTM and fundraising.</li><li>Hands-on execution capability—organized, self-directed, and able to deliver both strategy and production tasks.</li><li>Excellent copywriting across formats (web, email, pitch materials, social, events, sales enablement).</li><li>Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.</li><li>Familiarity with design and web tools (Figma, Canva, CMS platforms like Framer or Squarespace) and comfort collaborating with designers.</li></ul>Compensation<ul><li>Hours: Flexible, expecting 20-30 hours per week (may open up to a full-time position)</li><li>Compensation: Request hourly rates</li><li>Location: Remote (Bay Area preferred)If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.</li></ul>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against applicants due to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other federal, state, or local protected class.
