This role ensures accurate posting ofreceipts, maintains the integrity of the AR subledger, and supports month-endclose and audit processes. In this role, you will be involved with the following:Accounts Receivable Operations <ul><li>Record and apply customer payments (ACH, wire, lockbox, ZBA transfers) to the correct accounts and invoices.</li><li>Reconcile daily bank activity and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, or unidentified receipts promptly.</li><li>Maintain accurate AR subledger and perform monthly reconciliations to the general ledger. </li><li>Prepare AR aging schedules and track customer payment patterns to identify trends and potential risks</li></ul>Month-End Close &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Prepare monthly AR reconciliations and journal entries as part of the close process.</li><li>Assist in preparing AR metrics, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and cash application performance reports.</li><li>Support internal and external audits by providing supporting schedules and documentation.</li><li>Participate in system improvement initiatives and Workday ERP integration projects to enhance automation and reporting efficiency.</li></ul>Liaison &amp; Cross-Functional Support<ul><li>Serve as the primary AR liaison to Billing to ensure accurate synchronization of customer balances, credits, and market adjustments.</li><li>Coordinate with Tax and Revenue Accounting teams on sales tax validation, journal entries, and reporting compliance.</li><li>Support Treasury with cash forecasting by providing accurate visibility into customer collections and timing</li></ul>To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or experience in the related field </li></ul><ul><li>Greater than 3 years relevant experience.</li></ul><ul><li>Prior experience in the retail electricity or energy trading sector strongly preferred. </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with ERCOT, ISO-NE, PJM, or NYISO market structures and customer settlement dynamics desirable.</li></ul><ul><li>Energetic, driven and committed to success while working under tight time constraints and pressure. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong ability to work collaboratively within teams and independently. </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is often required.</li></ul> DiversityCelebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to what we do.
