Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for an Intermediate Engineer to join our Calgary, Alberta team. Spark Power provides a wide range of services to clients, including power system field services, engineering services, maintenance planning, project management, automation services, mechanical engineering support services, training services, and thermographic scanning. What will you do as a Intermediate Engineer?<ul><li>Manage and co-ordination of electrical design, drafting, material procurement, construction and commissioning on projects. </li><li>Prepare technical documents including electrical drawings, SLD’s, three lines, equipment and site layouts, cable and conduit schedules, electrical databases, technical specifications and contract documents relating to medium and high voltage equipment. </li><li>Perform and verify electrical design calculations. </li><li>Conduct power systems studies, including arc flash analysis, using ETAP and SKM. </li><li>Under supervision and review, work with senior engineering personnel in writing and compiling reports/studies/drawings and reviewing design documents. </li><li>Perform other duties as directed by senior engineering personnel including technical work on assignments of restricted scope. </li><li>Use a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques in solving problems. </li><li>Apply detailed instruction and outlined methods of analysis, design, and computation to carry out project duties. </li><li>Follow the Spark Power and client safety protocols and procedures.</li><li> Provide excellent customer service to multiple utility and industrial clients</li><li>Providing field support, as required, to construction management and site teams</li><li>Make decisions on project work based on established guidelines. </li><li>Provide recommendations and technical input to senior engineering personnel. </li><li>Demonstrate problem solving skills</li><li>Thrive in a team-oriented environment and work with others to see projects through to completion</li><li>Provide direction to and coordinate with internal drafting team. </li></ul>Spark Power Employee Benefits and Perks:<ul><li>Competitive wages plus incentive program</li><li>RRSP program with company matching</li><li>Diverse and exciting scope of work</li><li>Career advancement opportunities</li><li>Excellent benefit package (medical, dental, vision, mental health counselling, employee discount programs, wellness spending account option)</li><li>Employee Share Ownership Program</li><li>….and much more</li></ul>Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:<ul><li>Graduate of an accredited Electrical Engineering program. </li><li>Registered as an P.Eng. with APEGA </li><li>Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code. Familiarity with international 	standards is 	advantageous. </li><li>Proficiency with ETAP or similar software. </li><li>Experience in the design of 120/208VAC, 480VAC, and 600VAC systems. </li><li>Experience in the design of medium voltage (4.16kV to 25kV) systems. </li><li>Experience in the design of high voltage (138kV to 240kV) systems. </li><li>4-8 years’ experience in utilities, processing, power generation, or mining. </li><li>Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (a copy of a valid work permit may be 	required)</li><li>	Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities</li><li>Eager to help and support others in their work</li><li>Minimum of 5 years’ experience in utilities, processing, power generation, or mining.</li><li>Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (a copy of a valid work permit may be required</li><li>Quick learner with a strong aptitude for acquiring new skills</li><li>Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and adaptable work environment</li><li>Positive attitude with a strong team-oriented mindset</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive initiative</li><li>Passion for supporting and assisting colleagues in their work</li><li>Completion of medical (to access certain client sites) </li><li>Class 5 driver’s license including clean driving record </li></ul>Who is Spark Power?Spark Power is the leading independent provider of end-to-end electrical services and operations and maintenance services to the industrial, utility, and renewable asset markets in North America.
