THE ROLEWiseEnergy is a trusted and established solar asset manager, offering all the services clients require to manage and optimise large-scale solar plants, from development and construction through to long-term operational asset management. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate finance professional to support the delivery of finance asset management services to one of our most important clients in multiple international jurisdictions.We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the people they work with, naturally seeks to collaborate, and enjoys the buzz of good camaraderie. Although, as with all finance roles, you will need to have exceptional attention to detail, this role is not suitable for someone wanting to lock themselves away – you will need the right balance of introversion and extroversion to be comfortable in this role. In other words, you will be a key member of the team who can build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.The role is a mid-level role and will be expected to be part of the team to manage the finance operations for our assets in Iberia. You will also be expected to manage the finance operations for other regions as required either as a supporting role.Most of the assets we manage in Iberia are handled in-house. Accounting is performed internally, while taxes are outsourced, making it essential for this role to have a comprehensive understanding of both accounting and tax matters in the region. This role is then expected to support the provision of financial services from these markets.Reporting to the Finance Manager based in Madrid, the successful role holder will work with other accountants and professionals from other functions of the business. From time to time the successful candidate may be asked to perform tasks at the same level within our other range of funds/clients.We have an office in Madrid; Spain and we have a hybrid working model between working from the office and remotely. The hybrid arrangement is to be discussed and agreed with your line manager on a continuous basis and subject to changes.There is an expectation of consistency and accuracy of outputs, as well as delivering and maintaining a high degree of customer service (internal and external). In view of this, you will be expected to appropriately flag issues and support their resolution through to the end and proactively drive continuous improvementKEY RESPONSIBILITIESWorking alongside finance and asset management professionals, this will be an integral role in the finance team:Onboarding<ul><li>Take full ownership of the onboarding checklist, ensuring all information is accurately verified against the virtual data room.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation and delivery of the Onboarding Report for the Client.</li><li>Complete KYC documentation and manage all required administrative and finance-related applications.</li><li>Collaborate with the Finance Transformation Team to integrate financial data into NetSuite and other finance systems/tools.</li><li>Partner with the Senior Management Accountant to establish month-end schedules and standard reporting templates.</li><li>Prepare and record acquisition accounting journals in line with accounting standards.</li></ul>ReportingReporting: Management Accounts &amp; Bookkeeping<ul><li>To review/support in the accounting prepared by the Assistant Accountant for the SPVs ensuring consistency and quality across entities.</li><li>To review/support in the preparation of SPVs management accounts (monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc), ensuring that all accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained to a high standard.</li></ul>Reporting: Financial Reporting<ul><li>Review reporting outputs and supporting schedules prepared by the Assistant Accountant and work collaboratively with the Senior Management Accountant in setting up and improving reporting frameworks and templates.</li></ul>Reporting: Financial Deliverables &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Manage assigned internal and external financial deliverables for both the Group and lenders/investors, ensuring timely submission of financial statements and other agreed reports.</li><li>Oversee lender deliverables related to audited financial statements and support the annual and interim audit processes.</li></ul>Reporting: Audit &amp; Financial Statements<ul><li>Act as the key liaison with external auditors, coordinating deliverables, resolving audit queries, and addressing accounting issues for both annual and interim audits.</li><li>Work alongside the Senior Management Accountant to prepare and review statutory financial statements for HoldCos and SPVs.</li></ul>Reporting: Budgeting &amp; Forecasting<ul><li>Preparation of the annual operating budget and manage quarterly reforecasts.</li></ul>Cash Management<ul><li>Manage the invoice review and approval process in Yooz, and oversee payment workflows for SPVs and HoldCos.</li><li>Preparation and review of monthly cash flow forecasting<ul><li>Strong understanding of cash flow management, including forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and variance analysis.</li><li>Ability to prepare and interpret cash flow statements and support decision-making through accurate cash projections.</li></ul></li><li>Working alongside the Debt Management Team to calculate and verify distributions.</li></ul>Systems and Processes<ul><li>Implement and maintain finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).</li><li>Support in the implementation of systems and processes (control processes).</li><li>Ensure all documentation is stored in an orderly format in common share drive.</li></ul>Tax<ul><li>Work alongside the Senior Management Accountant to manage all local tax compliance matters by supporting the appointed tax advisors ensuring they are filed and paid before the due dates.</li></ul>Stakeholder Management<ul><li>Collaborate with other Wise delivery functions – Technical, Commercial, Debt Management and Client Management.</li></ul>Ad-hoc<ul><li>Given the dynamic nature of our business in the early-stage sector we operate in, the successful candidate is seen picking up ad hoc tasks as part of the team’s agility to provide the best service to its range of clients.</li></ul>SKILLS &amp; COMPETENCIES (this is an example, can be updated)To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:<ul><li>Time management &amp; prioritisation skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling.
