This position involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that purchased materials meet quality and cost requirements. The Procurement Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to address procurement issues, perform cost analysis, and implement cost-saving initiatives. Additionally, this role involves monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong supplier relationships.Core Responsibilities:<ul><li>Purchase Order creation and management; execution and expediting on all orders</li><li>· Reviewing scopes of work and proposals for accuracy and compliance</li><li>Collaborate and manage work order changes with all pertinent parties</li><li>Liaise between Sales Team, Engineering and Suppliers to ensure timely delivery</li><li>Provide schedule updates to internal stakeholders with regards to expediting &amp; delivery status</li><li>Partner with Category Management to develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions</li><li>Monitor and mitigate any potential risks related to purchasing</li><li>Panel Purchasing</li><li>Control panel Specification review</li><li>Able to read and interpret one-line drawings</li><li>Able to read and interpret control schematics</li><li>Able to size Breakers, Starters, Overloads, Wire, VFD, Soft Starters, Transformers</li><li>Understanding of Relay logic, PLCs, Pump controllers, UL codes , Intrinsically safe/FM</li><li>Organize and maintain library of municipal end user specifications and standards</li><li>Handling and executing expedite requests</li><li>Coordinating between internal and external suppliers, internal employees, and customers</li><li>Communicating with consultant engineers</li><li>Manage Xylem supplied items inventory and delivery to panel builders</li><li>Coordinating services, startups, and commissioning for electric components performed by third party suppliers</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; CPM or CPSM certification is a plus.</li><li>Strong technical aptitude in electrical or electronic systems.</li><li>Hands-on experience with control panels and interpreting panel drawings.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within industrial or infrastructure sectors.</li><li>Proven skills in negotiation, order management, analytics, and supplier relationship management.</li><li>Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and familiarity with procurement analytics tools.</li><li>Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions.</li></ul>Preferred Skills:<ul><li>Understanding of water infrastructure technologies and global supply markets.</li><li>Experience contributing to growth initiatives or transformation programs.</li><li>Knowledge of ESG principles and sustainable procurement practices.</li><li>Willingness to travel locally up to 5% to visit panel shops.</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
