(EPE) works with clients on a global scale designing solutions for renewable energy (solar/wind/battery storage), Generation Interconnection, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and Smart Grids.   Internships at Electric Power Engineers, Inc. are more than just a job, they’re an experience! Our interns bridge theoretical classroom concepts and hands-on training to overcome real-world challenges. Throughout your internship, you will develop skills to advance professionally and academically.    How you can make an impact:The Interconnection Services Intern will report to an experienced Engineer and be exposed to exciting projects building valuable industry knowledge. Through this opportunity, the intern will gain hands-on experience.  <ul> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills   </li> <li>Experience with automation tools and frameworks, which can streamline data processing and reporting workflows.  </li> <li>Building static and dynamic power system models including new technologies, such as inverters, wind turbines, or storage systems which may require interaction with equipment vendors to determine the appropriate parameters. </li> <li>Experience with any types of power system software and their APIs (e.g. PSSE, TARA, PSSE, PowerWorld, PSCAD, etc) would be considered a plus  </li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here what’s needed: <ul> <li>Currently pursing bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems </li> <li>Background in power systems tools a plus (TARA, PSSE, PowerWorld, PSCAD, etc) </li> <li>Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher  </li></ul>Location: This position will be in person at one of the following locations: Austin, TX, Champaign IL, Waterloo, Canada, Beirut, Lebanon . Start date for this position is January 20th, 2026 and will conclude on May 15th, 2026. Position is 20 hours a week.
