Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure and reclamation projects. This role involves structural and geotechnical design, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering, hands-on experience in marine and coastal works, and the ability to manage design activities efficiently in a fast-paced project environment.  Key Responsibilities <ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Lead and execute structural and geotechnical design and design review activities, including contractor submission checks and internal quality control. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Coordinate with design, construction management, and project control teams to support construction progress. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Prepare technical correspondence related to design and geotechnical instrumentation, and liaise with construction and contract administration teams. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Deliver competent engineering services for marine facilities such as revetments, shoreline protection, ports, and harbours, including soil investigation and testing. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Perform analysis and design of soil improvement, geotechnical stability, and coastal protection structures. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Design structural/geotechnical elements from foundations to superstructures using reinforced and pre/post-tensioned concrete and steel. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Ensure all designs comply with SMEC/SJ standards, including British Standards, ASTM, and Philippine codes for civil, highway, and marine works. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Liaise independently with clients, contractors, and government authorities to ensure design requirements are met. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g., M&amp;E, environmental, drainage, survey, BIM) to ensure integrated and compliant construction solutions. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Prepare clear and concise design reports aligned with client expectations. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Review and validate CAD and drafting outputs related to structural/geotechnical design. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Assist in preparing specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documents. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Conduct design reviews for coastal structures such as quay walls, ports, jetties, revetments, and land reclamation for both local and international projects. </li></ul> Key Qualifications <ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized and reputable university. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure or reclamation projects. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage and coordinate design activities. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Proactive team player with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Self-motivated, disciplined, and resourceful. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Experience in contract administration is an advantage. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Skilled in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Plaxis. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Ability to work under tight deadlines. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Willing to accept project-based employment. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Willing to be assigned in Manila. </li></ul>At Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
