You will own the marketplace stack that enables project listing, bidding, evaluation, and award. You will:<ul><li>Own the architecture and scalability of the marketplace platform, including project posting, bidding, evaluation, and award workflows.</li><li>Design and build full-stack product features that drive speed, transparency, and repeat use across the platform.</li><li>Improve marketplace trust and efficiency by developing systems that handle repeat bidding, bid comparisons, and transparent reporting.</li><li>Raise the bar on engineering quality: reliability, observability, testing, and refactor strategies.</li><li>Improve trust and usability with features like repeat bidding, bid comparisons, structured Q&amp;A, and audit trails.</li><li>Scale the system to handle higher throughput: more users, more bids, more portfolio-level workflows.</li><li>Mentor engineers and model great technical judgment through pairing, reviews, and design discussions.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally to align platform development with business needs and buyer/provider success.</li><li>Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap, especially where marketplace, evaluation, and analytics converge.</li></ul>You might be a fit if you have:<ul><li>8+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally across multiple product surfaces.</li><li>Demonstrated ownership of complex systems that involve scalable workflows, structured data, and asynchronous interactions.</li><li>Strong experience with modern web stacks (Python, TypeScript, SQL databases)</li><li>Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure (GCP or equivalent).</li><li>Ability to lead projects from concept to delivery, balancing speed with long-term maintainability.</li><li>Ability to mentor engineers and grow a culture of quality, ownership, and learning.</li><li>Strong communication skills, especially the ability to translate technical tradeoffs into business impacts.</li></ul>Bonus points:<ul><li>Past leadership in platform or staff-level engineering roles.</li><li>Exposure to clean energy, infrastructure, or climate tech.</li><li>A strong personal network of engineers who would want to work with you again.</li></ul>BenefitsWe’re committed to supporting a healthy, sustainable life in and outside of work. The annual base salary for this role is $179k - $205k depending on your location.
