The role will include high levels of interaction with investors, internal investment professionals, and senior leaders.  This specific role will present an opportunity for the candidate to collaboratively work on complex fund structures and investments with colleagues across the firm, including the investment team, legal, marketing and others.Role SummaryIn this role, you will support the Credit Finance Senior Controller and Group CFO in developing and executing the organizational framework, operational processes, and enabling technologies essential for the ongoing financial operations of Apollo’s Fixed Income Replacement products. Your responsibilities will span oversight of the books and records for funds, subsidiaries, and affiliated entities; management of quarter-end accounting close and Net Asset Value (NAV) reviews; and review of financial statements. You will also lead external audits, deliver ad hoc financial reporting for senior management, internal stakeholders, and investors, and drive performance reporting to support strategic decision-making.Primary Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead the finance team responsible for investor reporting, compliance with the fund agreements, management and financial reporting, and performance measurement</li><li>Review financial statements, partner allocations, capital account statements and performance reporting as prepared by junior members of the team.</li><li>Preparation of SEC (10Q/10K) filings and Board reporting</li><li>Lead the process of issuing capital calls including performing reasonableness and analytical reviews</li><li>Review the preparation of fee calculations and distributions to investors</li><li>Review work of junior members of the team including journal entries, cash movements and monthly/quarterly closing work papers</li><li>Review valuation memos and report to the Senior Controller any issues and assist in remediation</li><li>Work with Corporate Controllers to report and record all monthly and quarterly corporate reporting</li><li>Track several fee sharing and expense allocation arrangement between the Firm, the Fund and the underlying platform</li><li>Oversee the reporting providing by the Finance team of the underlying platforms to ensure adherence to Apollo standards including delivery of data for Firm Fund Hand Off (FFHO) process</li><li>Partner on cross functional basis with Legal, Tax, Compliance and Corporate Controllers on ad-hoc projects as well as various tasks related to the Funds</li><li>Assist in monitoring SOX compliance by performing internal controls and coordinating with internal audit</li><li>Review and approve AP and AR batches attributable to the Funds and Platforms</li><li>Work with internal and external tax counsel on investor and entity level tax reporting</li><li>Work alongside the investment teams, Legal and Tax on Fund restructuring and Financing arrangements</li><li>Liaise with Marketing and Investor Servicing teams on quarterly reporting and ad-hoc investor requests</li><li>General support for Fund CFO and Senior Controller</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Public/Private accounting experience preferred (Big 4 preferred) and CPA is required</li><li>10+ years of experience in investment management business with strong experience in Private Credit, Lending Platforms or Partnership/fund accounting, and financial reporting</li><li>Previous Public/Private Fund/ CLOs/Credit Hedge Fund/Financial Services experience</li><li>Previous experience evaluating process controls, procedures, and flows</li><li>Demonstrable record of leadership skills and collaboration with team leaders across functions</li><li>Growth mindset focused on creating a thoughtful workplace geared towards efficient analysis and decision-making Individual must have strong drive and initiative</li><li>Individual must be collaborative to effectively liaise with investment partners and colleagues as well as able to work independently</li><li>Must have a track record of building teams, coaching and training and developing bench strength</li><li>Ability to review analytically as well as dive into the details</li><li>Superior verbal and written skills including the ability to report upward in a summarized manner</li><li>Exposure to complex fund structures with multiple jurisdictions and their filing requirements, a huge plus</li><li>Strong U.S. GAAP technical accounting expertise.</li><li>An energetic, forward thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve internal differences and observe confidentiality</li><li>Role requires individual to be nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously. </li><li>The ability to take on a task and “run with it” to conclusion is a critical characteristic of this role.</li></ul>OUR PURPOSE AND CORE VALUESOur clients rely on our investment acumen to help secure their future.
