This role is based out of our injection molding facility located in Barrie, ON.Do not miss the opportunity to join an engaging team of people-centric professionals, leaders, problem solvers, entrepreneurs in spirit and status quo-fighters!Location: 31 Patterson Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 3V9 (<a href="http://www.google.com/maps/place/Canplas+Industries+Ltd/@44.3681374,-79.7121364,16z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x882abd5c2280332b:0xe2f7de1289551f8a!8m2!3d44.3681337!4d-79.7072655!16s%2Fg%2F11q24hj428?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI1MTEwOS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D">view on google maps!</a>)Shift Schedule: 12-Hour continental day shift (7 shifts bi-weekly) and/or Afternoon shift (Mon-Fri: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, with weekend rotation)Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Manufacture mould components and carry out final fitting of the components to the mould</li><li>Assemble or adjust complete moulds or segments of the mould to bring it to an operational state</li><li>Use the work order and time record system to document labor hours and complete work order paperwork</li><li>Assist in training other Canplas personnel in any areas related to the Department</li><li>Assure the safety of personnel performing post molding machining operations on molded plastic parts</li><li>Actively participate in the 5S, Hazards Made SAFE and continuous improvement programs and continuous participation in all facility waste management and environmentally related programs and training.</li><li>Assist in implementing and maintaining 5S activities in the Mould Shop</li><li>Responsible for following and carrying out HWIN Manifest procedure</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.</li><li>Any other duties as the need arises and assigned</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Ontario or Interprovincial certification as a Mold Maker OR Tool and Die Maker is required</li><li>5+ years in a Mold Making or Tool and Die work</li><li>Manufacturing experience is a strong asset</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings</li><li>Ability to operate manual and automated metalworking machinery independently</li><li>Familiarity with molds featuring slides, lifters, mechanical pulls and set operations.</li><li>Training or knowledge on welding, CNC, EDM, hot runners systems and CAD programming are strong assets</li><li>Self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. Skilled in tight tolerances, jigs, fixtures, and troubleshooting.
