If you want to be part of shaping the future of mobility, then read on!Wisk is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our Conflict Detection and Resolution (CD&amp;R) team.  As part of the CD&amp;R team within the Autoflight and Navigation (AF&amp;N) team inside the Autonomy and Airspace Integration (A&amp;AI) Integrated Product Team, you will own and lead portions of the system architecture and system model to enable functions like Airborne Traffic Detection, DAA Alerting and Directive Guidance, Automatic Return to Course and Forward Looking Terrain Avoidance through the complete product life cycle.  The successful candidate will have direct hands-on experience developing and building systems for type certified aircraft, from initial concept through flight testing and certification, with the technical breadth and leadership necessary to influence and align all engineering functions. What you will do:<ul><li>Lead the definition, development, and management of system architecture and system models through complete product life cycle, with an emphasis on onboard aircraft functions to automatically detect and avoid other airspace users and terrain   </li><li>Own the system-level requirements for CD&amp;R functions, leading their decomposition, allocation, and validation</li><li>Execute trade studies that inform system design, especially to appropriately allocate risk and complexity</li><li>Engage external vendors in new traffic avoidance and terrain avoidance product concepts</li><li>Define and own test and evaluation strategies to examine where the system or vendor products need to improve</li><li>Work with other system engineers to drive architectural consistency and best practices</li><li>Interface with regulatory bodies and internal program leadership on key technical decisions</li><li>Define data analysis requirements and success criteria for system verification and validation</li></ul> What you have done:<ul><li>BS in an engineering degree or higher</li><li>8+ years of experience in requirements development and test design of aircraft systems or other complex, safety-critical systems</li><li>Experience in developing and deploying aviation/aerospace systems through production</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading and owning complete system architecture from ideation through implementation</li><li>Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering principles and tools ( (e.g., Cameo)</li><li>Experience with FAA Type Certification or Technical Standards Order (TSO) Authorizations</li></ul>Desired:<ul><li>MS or PhD in aerospace (or related field) engineering degree</li><li>Experience with TCAS II (DO-185B), ADS-B (DO-260C and DO-282C), Mode S (DO-181F), GPWS (DO-161A), TAWS (DO-367), GCAS, Aeronautical Databases (DO-200, DO-276), DAA (DO-365), or DAA Radars (DO-366) </li><li>Experience with FAA software and hardware certification standards (DO-178C, DO-330, DO-254, DO-160)</li><li>Direct experience with system development lifecycle processes (ARP-4754A) and system safety analysis (ARP-4761)</li></ul>Who you are:<ul><li>You are a highly motivated, self starting individual with a broad set of skills and never afraid of facing complex technical challenges</li><li>You are a solution-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset</li><li>You have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communications to suit the audience</li><li>You can adapt quickly or propose changes needed to achieve early results in a timely fashion</li><li>You embrace challenges, meet commitments and deliver results within reasonable expectations</li><li>You are a positive team player and a technical mentor</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits:In addition to offering a great work environment and the opportunity to be part of the team making electric autonomous flight a reality, at Wisk, we offer excellent total rewards which include a competitive base salary, annual bonus, long term incentive, 401K, health benefits and much more.  Job Type: Full-timePay range the company expects to pay: $177,000 - $208,000 per year.
