The role will provide exposure to project planning, execution, risk management, and cross-functional coordination—particularly in collaboration with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and internal engineering and operations teams.This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing real-world technical projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment driving toward a transformative energy goal. <ul><ul><li>Lead and manage small-scale Infinity One project workstreams from planning through completion</li><li>Support project scheduling, budgeting, and resource tracking using established project management tools and processes</li><li>Coordinate cross-functional communication between engineering, operations, and external partners, including TVA</li><li>Assist in preparing and maintaining project documentation such as status reports, action logs, risk registers, and meeting minutes</li><li>Track project milestones, identify issues or delays, and proactively support mitigation efforts</li><li>Participate in and occasionally facilitate project review meetings and coordination calls</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for project delivery processes</li></ul></ul><ul></ul>What you’ll need:<ul><ul> <li>Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field</li> <li>Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively</li> <li>Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>Experience or coursework in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid models)</li> <li>Familiarity with engineering or technical project environments</li> <li>Interest in energy systems, infrastructure projects, or clean technology development</li> <li>Prior experience coordinating with external stakeholders or partners</li></ul></ul><ul></ul>Type One Energy applies proven advanced manufacturing methods, modern computational physics and high-field superconducting magnets to develop its optimized stellarator fusion energy system.
