Join us in powering North America!Your OpportunityOne Permanent Full Time Position.  The Corporate Accounting Specialist, AR and Treasury will be accountable for ensuring accurate and timely accounting and reporting of accounts receivable, loans and borrowings and other treasury related items.You will contribute to our team by:<ul><li>Performing timely and accurate accounting for accounts receivable and financing related items, including accounting for receipts and deposits, processing of automatic payment withdrawals, processing of cross-border billings, accounting for loans and borrowings, and accounting for financing issuance costs.</li><li>Maintaining customer listing and ensuring alignment of records between the GL/subledger and the customer billing system.</li><li>Maintaining accurate supporting schedules including preparation of regular accounts receivable aging reports and liaising with the business on any concerns identified.</li><li>Performing timely and accurate account reconciliations.</li><li>Coordinating the interface processes between our accounts receivable subledger and the general ledger.</li><li>Preparing other periodic reporting requirements as well as ad hoc reporting requests.</li><li>Providing input and recommendations on ways to optimize processes, timelines, and flow of information</li><li>Contributing to the Shared Services team by maintaining internal controls around Information Produced by the Entity (IPE) with respect to key business reports used by the team.</li><li>Compiling quarterly documentation to support our financial control environment.</li><li>Communicating effectively with stakeholders inside and outside of Finance including working with external auditors on audit requests.</li><li>Providing support to other Corporate Accounting Specialist roles as needed including cross training in other areas such as fixed assets, projects, and payroll accounting.</li></ul>What you will bring to the role:   Education: <ul><li>Bachelor of Commerce or Business degree with a major in Accounting or Finance</li><li>An accounting designation or progress towards a CPA designation is an asset.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>3 – 5 years of relevant experience</li><li>The ability to automate and improve processes, with an interest in technical solutions and continuous process improvement.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, excellent planning and organization skills, advanced Excel skills, and can perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.</li><li>Experience in the power industry is considered an asset.</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Proficiency with Oracle G/L, Hyperion, Microsoft Power BI (or other similar tools) and MS Office suite of applications, particularly Excel.</li><li>Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Hybrid: work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesday – Thursday.  Office hours are 8am – 5pm.</li></ul>Additional Details:This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.Hours of Work: 8 hours a day, 40 hours a weekUnion: CSU52 (SEP-T2)Wage: $47.22Clearance of Credit check is required for this position.In order to be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.             Capital Power employees that refer a successful candidate for this position are eligible for a $1000 Referral Reward!We believe that creating a culture that supports employee physical, mental, financial, and social wellbeing is critical to our success.
