Typical metallurgist functions include determination of conformance to print for product or process function issues, proposals for continuous improvement of heat treatment processes, and cross-functional communication of suspect part risk analysis results. This person will work closely with product engineering, warranty engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and supplier quality departments. They will train, lead, and manage the performance of lab technicians. Maintain metallurgical lab equipment, inventory, and 5S expectations. • Proactive equipment maintenance • Procure new equipment. • Collaborate and develop relationships with external vendors, labs, equipment suppliers, and service resources.
