Our team looks for data-driven and fact-based mindsets, engaging and collaborative behaviors, and personal growth-focused professionals.     In order for the global energy system to make the transition from a carbon-based grid, to a renewable energy grid, large scale energy storage must be introduced into the electricity system to balance intra-hour supply and demand.  Energy storage is the enabler of high penetration variable renewable generation like solar and wind. We are seeking an Origination Analyst to support a variety of origination and commercial activities.  The successful candidate will bring a strong balance of quantitative skills, commercial acumen, and writing skills. The candidate should have an understanding of the utility processes of Integrated Resource Plans (IRP) and procurements along with some power marketing experience.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop, qualify, and pursue new commercial / offtake opportunities for Plus Power, with a focus on ISO / RTO markets</li><li>Produce strategic market assessment &amp; analysis including but not limited to reviewing / summarizing market price forecasts and fundamentals, interconnection queues, energy technology costs, utility IRPs/ERPs, understanding policy drivers such as clean energy mandates and capacity markets, and the competitive landscape</li><li>Support bilateral outreach to and structured product development for major C&amp;I companies such as investment banks, commodity firms, electricity retailers, and data center developers</li><li>Manage and prepare written RFP responses and manage/support other power marketing activities including administrative, financial, commercial, and legal</li><li>Coordinate and manage internal resources &amp; teams supporting commercial efforts</li><li>Support M&amp;A processes including evaluating new opportunities, preparing proposals, and supporting valuation/pricing exercises</li><li>Support internal risk controls and compliance obligations, including preparing and supporting investment committee presentations and managing follow-up tasks</li><li>Support fast-paced deal making exercises on as-needed basis for given circumstances</li><li>Inform market entry strategies via key customer relationships in target regions</li><li>Manage internal pipeline tracker across multiple projects &amp; stages throughout portfolio</li></ul>Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field</li><li>2-3 years’ experience in renewable energy and/or battery storage</li><li>2-3 years’ experience managing / supporting formal RFPs or public procurements</li><li>Understanding of project valuation and pricing and/or M&amp;A valuation for renewable energy and/or battery storage</li><li>Understanding of renewable energy power marketing fundamentals and electric utility business models</li><li>Basic understanding of ISO/RTO market structures</li><li>Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data to drive informed decision-making</li><li>Ability to explain complex technical analysis in a simplified matter to the internal management team and/or external parties</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Strong technical writing and communication skills</li><li>Self-motivated and disciplined to manage time and tasks efficiently in both office and remote environments</li><li>Proven ability to stay connected and maintain communication across distributed teams in hybrid or remote settings</li><li>Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook with advanced Excel modeling skills</li></ul> Compensation, Location, and BenefitsHighly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators.
