This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.</p></div><h2><strong>What we do: </strong></h2><p>The Senior Aerodynamics Engineer will support air vehicle design, ground tests, and flight tests with aerodynamics performance design and analysis. This role will handle planning and execution of aerodynamics design, analysis, and testing of air vehicles throughout the development process. The engineer will interface regularly with the Airframe, VMS, Powertrain, Intelligent Systems, and other groups within Flight Technology.</p><h2><strong>What you can do:</strong></h2><ul><li>Handle the design, analysis, and testing of aerodynamics for vehicles at different stages of development</li><li>Conduct aerodynamic design of the airframe and rotor systems in collaboration with Configuration, Structures, Dynamic Systems, and other critical contributors</li><li>Collaborate with the broader engineering team to conduct multi-disciplinary trade studies to guide design decisions</li><li>Coordinate and conduct aerodynamic testing – including wind tunnel testing, flight testing, and other testing as applicable</li><li>Support test procedure development and test execution, and maintain responsibility for crew and test article safety by monitoring and assessing aerodynamics and performance characteristics</li><li>Evaluate component test and vehicle test data, using empirical data to apply improvements to analytical predictions and modeling</li><li>Support requirement verification activities in various engineering subject areas</li><li>Develop engineering tools to complete engineering tasks associated with the Supernal concepts</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><h2><strong>What you can contribute:</strong></h2><ul><li>B.S. in a relevant engineering field is required</li><li>Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)</li><li>Experience performing aerodynamics and performance analysis to evaluate new concepts and refine existing concepts</li><li>Experience performing analysis on VTOL aircraft preferred</li><li>Experience with innovative, physics-based aerodynamics analysis and design methods</li><li>An understanding of aerodynamics engineering fundamentals, especially with regards to an aircraft</li><li>Capability to assess the aerodynamics and performance of vertical lift aircraft through analysis, test, and a combination of the two</li><li>Experience with rotorcraft or fixed-wing performance analysis techniques that builds on applicable educational experience</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Proactively communicate and follow-up</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints</li><li>Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality</li><li>Proficiency with MS Office Suite</li></ul><h2><strong>You may also be able to contribute:</strong></h2><ul><li>Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field preferred</li></ul><p> </p><div><div><div><p>Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
