The position is key to successfully facilitating a SOC 1 controlled environment and will be a key contributor of our growing credit operations team and will report to the Director, Mortgage Loan Servicing.  The role will be based in Brookfield’s Toronto office at Brookfield Place. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assists with training and mentorship efforts for junior team members.</li><li>Makes recommendations and leads efforts to improve upon the service levels of the Commercial Mortgage Loan Servicing Operations team and the broader Investments Department.</li><li>Manages, coordinates and monitors the timely collection of all due diligence for the closing process and responsible for onboarding new and processing ongoing life cycle activity related to Mortgage Loans.</li><li>Performs and analyzes monthly reconciliation of principal to correspondents.</li><li>Completes and evaluates quarterly correspondent certification review and reconciliations.</li><li>Maximizes the integrity and utilization of information entered into the Loan Servicing system for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.</li><li>Ensure timely recording of data to facilitate regulatory requirements.</li><li>Evaluates and updates control documentation for the various mortgage loan processes.</li><li>Creates and evaluates reports for distribution to Senior Management, Underwriters, Investment department and rating agencies.</li><li>Works collaboratively with IT to develop, automate and maintain reports.</li><li>Works with outside parties to facilitate issue resolution.</li><li>Performs other related work as required.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in commercial real estate, finance or related field of study from leading institution</li><li>3+ years relevant work experience – commercial mortgage loan closing, accounting, reporting and portfolio analysis or related experience.</li><li>Master in Finance or Accounting, CPA, MBA and/or CFA is a plus</li><li>Knowledge of the investment industry, including financial data management and reporting as well as applicable laws, rules and regulations.</li><li>Excellent judgement and analytical skills combined with attention to detail and thoroughness</li><li>Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines while meeting timelines within a fast-paced work environment</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to present clearly and offer practical advice</li><li>Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independently</li><li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents from regulatory agencies, and other members of the business community.</li><li>Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.</li><li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.</li><li>Proficient with Aladdin, Precision LM, MS Access, Microsoft Excel and Word.</li><li>Ability to identify technological and other opportunities that will improve processing efficiencies and work product.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in the organization and customers, and other outside third parties, including auditors, correspondents, underwriting &amp; closing staff, and third-party reinsurance staff</li><li>Team-oriented with a commitment to shared success</li><li>High degree of professional ethics and integrity</li></ul>Brookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it.  Accordingly, we do not tolerate workplace discrimination, violence or harassment.Brookfield is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
