Within our Water Solutions &amp; Services (WSS) segment, we provide intelligent rental, treatment, and dewatering solutions to major infrastructure projects, utilities, and Tier 1 contractors across the UK.We are now seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to lead rental and solutions sales across the South of the UK, working closely with utilities, Tier 1 contractors, and strategic partners. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role for someone who combines technical credibility with commercial drive.What you’ll be responsible forYou will be part of the WSS UK &amp; Ireland sales team, owning the development and delivery of rental-led water solutions within your region.Key responsibilities include:Customer &amp; market development<ul><li>Develop and grow relationships with Tier 1 contractors, utilities, and strategic customers across the Southern region</li><li>Proactively identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities while strengthening existing accounts</li><li>Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, understanding both technical and commercial drivers</li><li>Act as a technical advisor, diagnosing customer challenges and presenting tailored rental and solution-based offerings</li></ul>Sales execution<ul><li>Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets through structured opportunity management and account planning</li><li>Prepare, manage, and follow up quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals</li><li>Identify and deliver up-selling and cross-selling opportunities across Xylem’s rental, service, and solution portfolio</li><li>Maintain accurate and disciplined CRM records covering pipeline, contracts, tenders, and customer interactions</li></ul>Technical &amp; solution expertise<ul><li>Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of Xylem’s water, treatment, and rental solutions</li><li>Confidently articulate value propositions that clearly differentiate Xylem from competitors</li><li>Stay informed on industry developments, emerging technologies, and evolving customer needs</li></ul>Strategic contribution<ul><li>Identify market trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunities within the Southern region</li><li>Support the development of regional sales strategies through structured market intelligence and account segmentation</li><li>Work collaboratively with internal teams, service partners, and third-party contractors to deliver optimal outcomes for customers and Xylem</li></ul><h3></h3>What we’re looking forThis role will suit someone who is commercially sharp, technically curious, and comfortable operating in complex stakeholder environments.Essential experience &amp; skills:<ul><li>3–5 years’ experience in a technical sales role, ideally within water, industrial, infrastructure, or related technical sectors</li><li>Proven ability to sell solutions rather than products, with a consultative and customer-centric approach</li><li>Strong understanding of contractor and utility environments; Tier 1 contractor exposure is a significant advantage</li><li>Confident communicator with the ability to influence at multiple organisational levels</li><li>High level of self-motivation, resilience, and ownership of regional performance</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Background or strong affinity with water technology, rental solutions, or industrial equipment</li><li>Experience working with indirect channels such as service partners or distributors</li></ul><h3></h3>Why join Xylem?At Xylem, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation tackling real-world water challenges.
