This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-impact venture where you’ll play a key role in driving Octopus’ growth within the dynamic energy market.</span></div><br><br><h3>What you'll do </h3><ul><li>Take responsibility for intraday power trading in the German market (continuous trading &amp; auctions).</li><li>Develop, implement, and optimize algorithmic trading strategies.</li><li>Combine manual and automated trading depending on market conditions.</li><li>Monitor and steer schedules as well as manage the balancing group.</li><li>Analyze market data (order book, forecasts, trade data) to derive trading decisions.</li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. REMIT, MiFID II) in daily operations.</li><li>Occasionally work in a shift schedule, including weekend and public holiday duties (rotating team).</li></ul><h3>What you'll need </h3><ul><li>Several years of proven experience in intraday power trading.</li><li>Deep understanding of the German power market, especially EPEX Spot and balancing group processes.</li><li>Strong programming skills in Python (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, backtesting, API integration).</li><li>Experience handling large time series datasets and databases (SQL, REST APIs).</li><li>Knowledge of schedule and balancing group management.</li><li>Strong analytical skills, background in quantitative modelling is helpful.</li><li>Resilience, quick decision-making ability, and high self-motivation.</li><li>Willingness to work occasionally in shifts as well as on weekends and public holidays.</li><li>Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written.</li><li>Nice to have: Experience with cloud environments, containerization (Docker), CI/CD, or machine learning</li></ul><br><div>If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you.</div><div><br></div><div>Are you ready for a career with us?
