POSITION SUMMARY:  The Transportation Supervisor provides direct supervision and coordination of the daily activities related to transportation programs and roles, such as drivers and/or transportation administrative support roles. Creates schedules and assigns routes to maximize efficiencies and enhance company profitability. Ensures compliance with transportation regulations and company policies and procedures.  Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists team members in solving work problems. Selects, develops, and evaluates team members to ensure the efficient operations.PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul><li>Provides day to day supervision of CDL Drivers for employees.</li><li>Plan schedules and routes to ensure maximum efficiencies.</li><li>Ensures the vehicle fleet is properly maintained.</li><li>Ensures compliance with Federal, State and Local laws for Hazardous. Material and Hazardous Waste shipments.</li><li>Monitors and assists with keeping operational costs at or below budget.</li><li>Ensures clear communication with internal operations, disposal facilities, and others in the normal course of transportation.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned by management.</li><li>Supervises employees per organization chart. </li><li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.</li><li>Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Knowledge of personnel management and operations.</li><li>Knowledgeable in federal, state and local regulation concerning transportation matters. </li><li>Knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations and of transportation principles and best practices.</li><li>Work requires skill to investigate complaints, analyze information, and recommend resolutions; address difficult situations in a constructive manner; utilize computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting; negotiation and problem solving; building a rapport with associates and managers; detail oriented, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data.</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>2-3 years of experience in the related area.
