<h2>Overview</h2>Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a Community Liaison Officer in Ras Ghareb, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Community Liaison Officer you will maintain stakeholder relations between Shadwan Wind Power project in Scatec and the local community. To implement social management processes and community development initiatives to mitigate project related impacts and to benefit local communities. Main responsibilities <ul> <li>Relationship building; Establish and maintain an effective relationship between the local community and the project, Build and foster an environment that supports community involvement, continuous community engagement, Provide community members with opportunities to express their concerns and raise issues, Liaise with local community stakeholders on behalf of the project, Engage and facilitate community meetings where applicable and relevant, Rally and build community spirit around the project</li> <li>Stakeholder engagement; Provide regular and timely information and project updates to the local community and relevant stakeholders, Create a stakeholder database, develop and regularly update community profiles and expectations, Report any community issues to the line manager and project/plant manager of that might affect the project activities or operations, Manage the community grievance mechanism</li> <li>Work with contractors/subcontractors to achieve local content; Identify best means of advertising for jobs, subcontractors and equipment rental, Communicate with contractors/subcontractors to identify their needs and maximize local content in terms of jobs, subcontractors and equipment rental in a transparent manner that reflects equal opportunity</li> <li>Institutional arrangements: If relevant, liaise with the project management &amp; local government offices for planning and implementation of resettlement of households impacted by the project as relevant and communication of local job other opportunities to the communities</li> <li>Social management and community development programs; Deliver weekly and monthly reports on activities, Identify and develop proposals for community development projects aligned with the sustainability policy, Review and identify potential partners for community development initiatives</li></ul>Qualifications and competencies<ul> <li>University degree – preferably in social studies, General knowledge of local and state government practices, Well-developed knowledge of local language, culture, customs and practices in the community, Have IT skills for operating Software and Apps – MS office package, Must be able to report in English, Must be able to work flexibly according to operational needs, Experience in wind projects, 2+ years in community experience.</li></ul>Personal characteristicsIt is part of every employees’ terms of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhere to our company values which are:<ul> <li>Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, shares information in an open and honest way</li> <li>Driving results: demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritise and work independently</li> <li>Changemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust</li> <li>Working together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitude</li></ul> For the particular role we also expect the candidate to have:<ul> <li>high level interpersonal and communication skills, An ability to act as project representative, An ability to articulate and deliver information both technical and general at community level, Mediation and conflict resolution skills, Assessment and evaluation capabilities, An ability to source and filter information for feeding back to the community, An ability to liaise with all levels of society, Event management and time management skills, Ability to coordinate and negotiate.</li></ul>Additional information <ul> <li>The role is mainly on-site as the candidate is highly preferred to be a resident of Ras Ghareb or the surrounding area, may require traveling to the site, office in Cairo occasionally, and to stakeholder locations .</li> <li>This role is for a short-term employment contract.</li></ul>We offerScatec is an exciting, innovative and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
