And that’s where you come in.Job Description:Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Commissioning Engineer – Signalling Onboard Tester who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Wulkuraka, Queensland, Australia.Key accountabilities: <ul><li>Participating in the testing and commissioning of on-board, trackside, communications and control systems in accordance with the Commissioning procedures.</li><li>Performing factory and site testing as required.</li><li>Participating in fault identification during set to work activities and during commissioning.</li><li>Supporting the engineering team by carrying out correlation of existing installations to verify the design inputs match the installation</li><li>Set to work. testing and commissioning of onboard signalling equipment.</li><li>Verifying the design against wiring diagrams, equipment layouts and cable plans.</li><li>Supporting the Commissioning Manager or his delegate in ensuring the timely production of Test Plans, Procedures and Reports at the project level.</li><li>Supporting the Commissioning Manager or his delegate in the continuous improvement of project documentation.</li><li>Supporting the Construction team where required including:<ul><li>Wiring and termination of equipment wiring either on-board trains, in trackside locations, in communications locations or in control centres.</li><li>Installation of signalling equipment and cables for on-board, trackside, communications and control centre applications.</li></ul></li><li>Attending project progress meetings as and when required.</li><li>Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project</li><li>Supporting the Functional Manager in the evaluation of the performance of assigned resources, identifying the need for additional resource with project justification and identifying training needs</li></ul>Education and experience:<ul><li>Electrical Trade qualification (i.e. Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician) is essential</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field, including RPEQ, is desirable</li><li>2-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the Rail Signal industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:<ul><li>Electrical equipment and high-risk environments</li><li>Use of Test equipment (e.g. Digital and Analog multi-meters, insulation meters, etc.)</li><li>Use of Computer based test software</li><li>Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>Knowledge of Incident/accident investigation</li><li>Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools</li><li>Knowledge of Database tools</li><li>Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimation</li></ul></li><li>The candidate also needs to be willing to travel as required by the project.</li></ul>At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
